Off-Topic / baby showers
« on: November 03, 2011, 01:29:54 pm »Message ID: 441872
my friend just had her baby girl and she was gonna have a baby shower with friends but then she had the baby so it had to be rescheduled. i had more time to find something for her. i dont spend a lot if i dont have to. i go to garage sales and find things that are new or gently used with no stains or nice stuffed animals. of course if they are big then i wash them. if they are small and dont stink i put them with the baby stuff. i gave my friend a 25 cent blanket, 1.00(in the box) baby shoes, and a little pink teddy bear which i got for like 10 cents. so she got a gift that was retailed about 15 dollars and i only spent $1.35 on it. the bag i put it in was a used but like brand new bag from verizon and i just covered the label. thats how u do it folks. don't spend a *bleep* load of money on someone who had like 2-3 baby showers already even before she had the baby. everything that i got was brand new or gently used and like new. :) that's how i roll. my friend said she doesnt care if it is used.. the baby will grow and she wont fit into it for long. she doesnt want us to spend a lot in the first place.

if she doesnt want anyone to pet the dog she should keep him on the leash

exactly my point. how do u tell a dog that it cant come up to a person while no one his holding it's leash? and yes i agree , if it was a real service dog it wouldnt car if she dropped the leash..it would stay right by her and not leave her side. it would sit and wait for her to get done what she has to and no smell everything around it.

Off-Topic / service dogs

ok something happened to me today at a cricket store with a lady who had a "service dog". she let go off the leash and the dog was sniffing around and it came up to me and smelled me so i was going to pet it and then the lady turned around and told me never to pet a service dog. she wasnt handicapped. she was driving and she wasnt blind. and like the person at the cricket store said. the dog's vest was like hand made and the dog wouldnt come up to another person and want attention. they said it would stay by the person needing service and not care about anyone else or anything else. they think that she just put that vest on the dog so she could take it everywhere she goes. the dog was very friendly and he/she wanted me to pet her/him. my fiance told me he knew her from his old work so he knows she's not handicapped. they say there are service dogs for people who have sejures (sorry i know i spelled that wrong.. my mind is drawing a blank on the spelling SO PLEASE EXCUSE THE SPELLING) but should they really be driving? i know someone who does but he drives by himself so when we ride with him, my fiance drives so if that dude does have a sejures then he wont loose control of the vehicle and crash with us in the car.
