To the OP I can definitely relate to how you feel. I too am disabled and spend much time by myself which can be a bit depressing at times. I try to invest in regular self care and positive thinking to keep myself feeling good and healthy. I like to read books (Biographies are my favorite), listen to music, and watch sports. I recommend you also try some therapeutic sessions if your insurance will allow for those. They might also be helpful for your mood and motivation.

Off-Topic / Re: Pancakes, Waffles, or French Toast?

I love all three of them. It just depends on what mood I'm in at the time. I usually cook pancakes the most out of the three because they seem to be the easiest for me. Just get some instant mix with water and flip them when cooking. But for something more sweet I crave I love to eat french toast with lots of regular syrup. I don't like lite syrup which tastes like something is missing to me. I haven't had waffles in years since our waffle iron broke.

My mother had no health insurance and had to go a free clinic for a while for her health care. I was worried about her because she needed a surgery desperately to get well. The only thing we were able to find was the Affordable Care Act health care in our state. She became signed up and thankfully got her much needed surgery in March and is recovering. It's not the best you can get but for her situation is helpful enough for her current needs.

The OP story is terrible. I feel so bad for the elderly and think that abuse is on the rise because people seem to be more callous than ever. I remember hearing a horrible story of how a senior lady was sexually assaulted and the nursing home worker didn't care that he hurt her and had the nerve to complain about her smell since she was incontinent. It so disturbing that younger people think this couldn't happen to them. It can. It pays to be good to all people and especially people who have a disadvantage and need help.

Off-Topic / Re: Do you believe in EVPs?

I think I might have heard of EVP, but to be honest would stay far away from it because I've heard that having contact with the dead is not actually like a deceased person but an evil spirit pretending to be the deceased and try to harm you. I think a person would be set up for a possible curse or something if they tried this and especially on a regular basis. I don't get a good feeling about some youtube videos concerning spirituality since they seem somewhat "off" to me.

Off-Topic / Re: Can you handle very hot peppers / spicy food?
« on: July 01, 2019, 07:43:44 pm »Message ID: 1282376
To be honest I've never really liked peppers and spicy foods. I just don't like the taste of them for the most part and the heat they bring during a meal is just a turn off for me. I think I'm that way because my father didn't care for spicy foods at all and did not eat them. I can handle hot chili but admittedly the most recent experience I had was the diablo sauce on my taco bell meal. It was very hot, but wasn't as cringeworthy in the heat factor as I was expecting it and I handled it well.

I like the rain too. It can cool down our temps a bit when we are having a hot day (It can get really muggy here due to the humiidity so a bit of a cooldown in the summer is highly welcome. We don't get extremely hot, but the humidity makes it worse). I like to hear the pitter patter it makes and it seems to make the atmosphere feel calm and peaceful when it's a quiet rain for me.

Here it's been very nice. Mainly in the mid 70's with breezy, balmy tshirt weather that you can sleep well in with the window open and no A/C. It got up to the 80's a few times but it wasn't bad. We won't have it stay there until next month according to the local forecast so I'm enjoying it before it gets hot and sweaty out.

Off-Topic / Re: Today is National Donut Day 2019! Freebies available!

Happy National Donut Day! Made it to Wal-mart early this morning to get my free donut. Yum, it was soooo good!

That was so funny! I laughed so hard when I saw it. Thanks for posting that pic!

I've never heard of national donut day. Thanks for heads up about it. I would like to go to Krispy Kreme and pick up a donut. I've heard Krispy Kreme makes the best donuts. You got me hungry! I have a taste for glazed donut (my favorite) or a boston creme pie donut (I think they're underrated :) ). I also like sprinkled donuts (With the white frosting and sprinkles on top) and the glazed cinnamon twists. I'm not really into cake donuts, but if I eat one I would prefer a chocolate donut. I think I'll stick with this tradition. It sounds delicious.

I'm sorry to hear that you lack motivation debidoo. I'm glad that you feel somewhat better in your now not so hidden talent of decorating. That can help keep your mind up. Don't give up! I too am disabled and struggle at times to get thru life. It's not easy, but I try to keep a positive mindset as best I can and surround myself with motivators each day. My mother is very helpful to me as well so that's a huge plus. You might want to consider therapy to help you if you can get it (This was very helpful to me with keeping my mind up) and try to do things to keep yourself upbeat. Find something you can do each day or each week that will keep you happy and that might help.

The first time I started doing my monthly forum bonus was back in 2013 if I remember correctly and I never failed to make the mark. To be honest I never needed much more motivation to keep it at other than the $3 a month Fusion Cash promised mainly because I found it so easy. There were so many topics to post my thoughts to on a just about daily basis that it was easy to keep it up. All I need is about a week or so and I've done all of my needed posts. I hope you are able to keep up with your goal to do it monthly. Maybe part of your motivation can be that it will help you cashout faster and add to your earnings quicker.

Off-Topic / Re: Raptors vs Warriors
« on: June 08, 2019, 01:22:58 pm »Message ID: 1279126
I was surprised too. With the dominance of the Warriors over the past 5 years I honestly thought it would be Warriors in 6 even without Kevin Durant. After they won 5 straight games from game 6 of the semifinals vs the Rockets and the WCF vs the Blazers that especially looked possible like they could win without him. Toronto has been really great this series and I think it's been their defense that's been the difference in the series. Game 2 was pretty close in the end and it's amazing to think that but for that Andre Iguodala clutch 3 they would have been swept. I'm rooting for Toronto so I'm happy.

I agree that it far worse to murder a human being than an animal. Animals deserve humane treatment, but they don't have the value of a human life. I don't see why the internet would get more upset about a woman killing a rattle snake that bit her or tossing puppies in a dumpster than the death of an innocent baby. I never believed in abortion and always wanted the child's life to be preserved. I think it just makes more sense to practice abstinence until marriage to avoid an unwanted pregnancy. From what I've heard most unwanted pregnancies are from fornication and not rape or incest.

I think in my case what you are referring to is Google voice for us. I got my first google voice account years ago because we couldn't afford long distance calling and google voice worked great for our needs when calling out of our area code. I just signed up for a google account and connected my home phone number to the account and bam got free calls and texts. It was also great to make the occasional text or sign up for services that required a mobile number since at the time we didn't have a mobile phone.

Off-Topic / Re: Concerts and shows
« on: June 07, 2019, 06:06:44 am »Message ID: 1278914
I would love to go to a live concert, but due to limited finances I haven't been able to attend one. One of our friends had told me she listens to jazz and said we might be able to go to a free jazz concert this year if she has the time to attend so I had thought about that. The last concert I went to was as a child on a school field trip and it was a good time I had so I think I would definitely attend another if I had the money. I heard Beyonce puts a good show so I would probably go to one of hers. I prefer indoor to outdoors though so that I can be protected from the elements and bugs.

This is the first movie in a while that I have really wanted to see outside of Toy Story 4. I think Will Smith is an excellent actor and hope his comedic gifts will parallel with those of Robin Williams as an original genie. I saw the original Aladdin as a child and liked it so much that I asked my mother to buy it for me. I think it's interesting to have a live action version and am looking forward to seeing all of how they designed the sets and hope they really outdid themselves with the scenery.
