i would pay off my mom's house and fix it up for her, buy a house and some land, new cars, payoff any loans, debts we have, start college funds for the 3 kiddos and take a nice vacation. then save the rest.

I think the main reason is that when people get married, they take each other for granted more than before they were legally bound.  They figure that other person is "stuck" with them and therefore they don't have to try as hard to be a good partner, when really, that attitude is the death of a relationship.

exactly! with the exception of abuse and serious addiction problems most divorces are because people stopped trying.

i think it depends on how bad the addiction is and how it's effecting your day to day life. I man are they taking money and blowing so much of i on their addiction that bill can' be paid? Are they so drunk, high, stoned, etc that they hardly spend any quality time with the family? Situations like that then i'd have to leave even if they were trying to get clean.

i've never useda sitter myself but a friend of mine babysits and she charges 2.50 an hour per kid.

i think that a person should abstain from sex untill they are physically and emotionally ready to handle the situation and anything that may come along with it.
