Debate & Discuss / Re: God won't put anyone in hell

God doesn't "Put you through hell" And he doesn't "send people to hell"..
Whether or not you go to hell is your choice.

But who in their right mind would choose to go to Hell?

Debate & Discuss / Re: How many parts of Hell is there ?

Hell is a holding place for souls until the Judgement (not purgatory.....there's no getting out).  The lake of fire is the reward of sin after the Great Judgement.  We will all have different bodies (indestructible).  Bodies that will never die, or be destroyed, to take eternal happiness, or eternal damnation.

Actually, the Bible says that if you're not with Jesus, then you will "perish". Perish means you get destroyed, rather than having eternal life. So if your soul is destroyed, it can't get punished eternally, right?

Debate & Discuss / Re: Abortion

Abortion is reasonable if the mother's life is in danger. Otherwise, I'm against it. People should support pregnant women more, and babies should be viewed as blessings rather than "mistakes". Pregnancy centers often have alternatives available for pregnant women.

Debate & Discuss / Re: are you offended by the confederate flag?
« on: June 27, 2011, 02:03:34 pm »Message ID: 375437
The flag may be used by some ignoramuses as a racist symbol, but others use it as a symbol of their heritage and aren't racist. At the time of the Civil War, the North was actually just as racist as the South, and many of the Northern States had slaves.

-The largest slave port at the time was at Boston, Massachusetts
-African-American soldiers in the Confederate army were payed the same as whites; they were payed less than whites in the Union army
-The last state to finally free its slaves was Maryland, which fought for the Union
-The Confederate Constitution allowed for the admission of free states to the Confederacy, banned the overseas slave trade, and permitted Confederate states to abolish slavery within their borders if they wanted to do so.  During the Confederate debate on emancipation, both sides readily acknowledged that under the Confederate Constitution each state had the absolute right to abolish slavery within its borders
-Most people living in the South did not own slaves

Many people who still take pride in their Southern heritage do so not because they are racist but instead because they favor states' rights instead of too much power being held by the federal government.

I've been with my fiancee for over two years. We've never had sex. There are a lot of virtuous guys out there.

I don't think he will win. I agree that someone with financial experience should win. Herman Cain for instance.

That depends on which chicken is "the chicken" and which egg is "the egg".

However, I do not believe that every single person goes to heaven. God didn't come to judge the world but to save it, that's scripture and I believe it. But if a person is rejecting that salvation, in what sense do they make it to heaven?

That's how love wins. It conquers sin, it conquers hell, and it is unconditional. Does a God who loves his creation want them in hell? No. But if you reject his love, how can he save you?

What about people who have never heard about Jesus? Or people who lived before Jesus? Surely they are not rejecting Him because they don't believe.

Debate & Discuss / Re: Rapture ?
« on: June 25, 2011, 03:11:42 pm »Message ID: 374807
Quite an accurate graph. Kind of sad how so many have hoped for this beautiful world to end.  :-[

I would think the "rapture" would be the one event in the Bible that would please EVERYONE because it's a "win-win" for everyone.  As beautiful as this world has been, Christians look forward to "being transferred to the home office".   Non-believers have repeatedly stated their dis-like, anger and hatred for Believers so I would think they would be happy to finally know that they are gone and won't be bothering them anymore.  There  won't be any Believers in the public schools, or in the government, the churches will be empty, no one left to be saying an unwelcome prayer for them anymore, and noone to debate God with in the d&d anymore.  :P  Non-believers have done their best to try and remove God from the schools, from the money, from America and the rapture is God doing His BEST to remove "all things that belong to Him" from the earth...so the rapture event should be a time of rejoicing for everybody!!

Do "nonbelievers" include Jews and Muslims?

Yes, Jesus spoke in parables in order to demonstrate particular moral lessons. They were also to help the people better understand heavenly and spiritual things by paralleling them with earthly circumstances that they were familiar with.

I don't see any reason why a marriage between two interracial people couldn't work.

I agree with Flackle. Although I don't think they should necessarily get rid of all the other shows, they do need more actual documentaries.
