Breaks is the easiest thing to do.

Otherwise, you could try buying Gunners.  It's a type of glasses that gamers use so that they can use the computer for longer periods.  The glasses reduce the strength of the blue light from your monitor so they don't stress your eyes as much.  I've heard plenty of streamers say that having them make their day so much easier.  You can find them on Amazon by looking up "gunner glasses" if you are interested.

Off-Topic / Re: Beloved pet gone but not forgotten ever

I've had a dog all my life.  We had family friends though that only had like fish or stuff, so when we would visit them they could constantly ask us to stay later or whatever and we'd say we have to leave to go take care of our dog.  A few years ago they got a dog, and they started apologizing for all their nagging about staying because they finally understood what it's like having a dog vs a fish.

Sure, fish are good pets, not saying anything against that, but dogs and cats are more than just pets.  They are another member of the family.  They greet you at the door and try to make you feel better when you are sad or in pain.  And then when they go you really feel what's missing.

I'm sorry to hear that.  At least you know that you had good memories with them, otherwise you wouldn't miss them so much.

I sat in the back a lot, but that's mostly because I had an older sister who got to sit up front.  I was just outside of the weight height thing when it went into affect, so I didn't have to deal with that, but my parents didn't care if we sat up front or in back unless there was a specific reason (picking up relative for example).

Done it for years.  Not to the California standards, but we at least recycle cans, plastics, and cardboards.

My father worked in a computer company, where they would use tons of papers for their daily activities.  They had tons of empty paper boxes that they would throw away, so my father would grab a few boxes every now and then and we would use them to store things in my house.  I've grown so accustomed to having those boxes around that I'm starting to do that myself with Amazon boxes.  I bought some pantry prime stuff, and then box is this heavy duty cardboard and I have it sitting in my room just in case I need it cause it's such a nice box.

Luckily we don't get those, but it was strange when I was little and some random dude would come up to me trying to sell me a new roof to my families house.  It's like, dude, I'm 15, I don't own this house.  If I did I would be amazed with the money I currently get.

As long as the vitamin doesn't have iron in it, you should be fine.  Be very careful taking a multi-vitamin with iron because a back up of iron can cause tons of problems.

I think most of this is due to the internet.  Before, people were probably dying in weird ways, but we had no way of spreading the news.  No one is going to write a newspaper article about how some guy died oddly before when newspapers were the only method of spreading news, so they focused on the important topics.

With the internet, we have access to everything in seconds so sharing this kind of news along side of vital news is easier, thus we hear about crazy stuff now.

Off-Topic / Re: Raising my credit score
« on: April 19, 2018, 11:31:29 am »Message ID: 1210368
Just get a card, buy a few times, and pay it off on time.  That's what I've heard.

One thing I've read is that you should never use more than 10% of your credit if you want to raise your score.  So if you get a credit card with $1000 limit, only spend $100 on it so your credit goes up.  I don't think it hurts you much to go over, but spending less does seem to increase it quicker.  I got a credit card when I was young and the limit has been steadily going up over the years do to me paying it off on time and only using a small amount of my credit per month.  The only times I really use my credit is when I bought my first laptop and my first desktop build, which basically used my entire limit both times, but outside that I only used a percentage.

Never seen that.  That's good though cause there is nothing more frustrating than being like 15 minutes into a survey only to find out you've been DQ'd and only get 1 cent for it.  At least 5 sorta makes it less of a sting even if it still feels bad.

Off-Topic / Re: what's growing in your garden 2018?
« on: April 19, 2018, 11:26:20 am »Message ID: 1210365
We try to grow everything it seems.  My mother was a huge gardener, so my sister and I still try to maintain that even now.  We go to a greenhouse for work and while we are there we get pepper starters or herb starters.

One of these days I hope to be able to take care of plants because I'm horrible at it.  I would personally love to have a mini greenhouse essentially for stuff like tomatoes, peppers or herbs just so I don't need to go to the grocery store for things.  I doubt it will happen any time soon, but it's one of those dreams I have.

It's always nice receive that notification that money appeared in your account. I have notifications for when money is taken out of my account, so getting that one notification that says "here's some money" is a welcome relief after so many "money is taken away" notifications.

There should be in my opinion.  The fact that there are places like Saint Judes that help families pay for cancer treatments for their kids shows that it's possible to cover medical procedures from outside sources.  I don't know how much would be needed, but hopefully it can be figured out.

Off-Topic / Re: How do you compare to the best ?

I do that all the time.  At my work there were these tiny little lizards that were running around on the sidewalk, and right near them one of their brothers had been stepped on and killed because someone just didn't notice them.  So I grabbed some gloves and a plastic cup, went out and carefully picked them all up and moved them to a safer area.

At a mini golf where I used to work, we had a pond near by and frogs would live there.  Well, occasionally they would get into the ball return box and be stuck there, no way to escape.  So whenever I would get the *bleep*, I would take a minute to look closely to see if there were any small frogs stuck in there and rescue them if there were.  Of course, they don't understand your intentions and then to panic when you save them, but they at least get out of there even if they are a little terrified by the experience.

I saw the new mentioning that she was sick, didn't know that she died though.  Hopefully her family it ok with all this.  Losing someone is always hard, regardless of if it's expected or not.
