Off-Topic / Tough month so far
« on: December 16, 2014, 11:40:55 am »Message ID: 943503
On December 1st my husband and I were at the nursing home visiting with my father-in-law.  My cellphone rang (I usually have it on silent while at the nursing home)  It was one of my nephews and I knew something had to be wrong.  I excused myself and stepped out of the room.  He was calling to tell me that his dad had passed away suddenly a couple of hours before.  He was only 57 years old and the EMT guys thought it was probably his heart.  I told him to tell his mother I was on my way.  It took my 2 1/2 hours drive time to get to my sisters' house where I stayed for a week.  My brother-in-laws' service took place that following saturday but in the mean time I came down with broncitus and a severe throat infection, and then the next day I had the flu.  Needless to say I was in no condition to go to his memorial service.  I felt so bad having to miss it but just had no choice.  My sister and her family understood for which I'm grateful.  Now, we're dealing with my father-in-law in the nursing home wanting to stop eating so he can just go on and die.  He recouped pretty good from his broken hip but at 97 years old he's ready to give up and go home to the Lord.  Its hard for all of us to see him this way and I hope he'll have a change of heart.  Prayers would be appreciated.

Off-Topic / Cancer in pets
« on: October 25, 2014, 12:57:04 pm »Message ID: 929478
Our dog of 14 years has been having some serious issues lately so we took him to the Vet.  She found a tumor and kept him to do a biopsy.  She called last Monday to say it was cancerous.  We met with her Tuesday to discuss options and have decided to let her operate to remove as much of the cancer as she can to give him a better qualify of life for the years he has left with us.  She will XRay before starting the surgery to make sure it has not spread to other parts of his body.  We all love this little guy; he has always been such a good, faithful pet.  He loves everyone including the cats we've had thru the years.  I'm hoping and praying for a good outcome with his surgery.  My husband is extremely attached to him and I don't think he will take it very well if something goes wrong with the surgery.  Have any of you  had a pet with cancer?

Off-Topic / Precious pets!

We just found out Thursday that our 14 year old dog has a large tumor near his rectum that is causing him some real problems!  He can't walk very well and is not eating good.  The vet biopsyed it but we haven't gotten the results yet;  just hoping and praying it isn't cancer!  We love this little fellow and he has been a very important part of our family since the day our youngest daughter picked him out at the pound.  We've always felt that if you have a pet, you should take good care of them but this tumor slipped by us.

I did the Beauty Sage in New offers yesterday and never did get credited for it.  Just thought I'd pass that along.  Don't know if anyone else has had any luck with it or not.

Off-Topic / What is it about Sunday?
« on: June 29, 2014, 01:21:15 pm »Message ID: 894411
Was curious to know if anyone else gets really wore out on Sundays.  I get up about the same time as I do any other day, we go to Church, then grab lunch and take it to my father-in-laws house where we eat and visit till about 2ish.  By the time we get home (less than 2 miles away), I feel like I've been ran over by a darned ole' train!  My energy level is at 0 and I feel this way the rest of the day.  What's up with that?  Anybody else?

Support / Problems navigating FC
« on: June 13, 2014, 12:05:58 pm »Message ID: 890021
Is anyone else having trouble navigating FC?  I sure am and have been for a couple of days.  I keep getting message that FC is not responding or that another window can't open because of a long-running program on FC.  Really weird stuff!  And, I've starting getting a lot of pop-ups and in particular one saying my Internet Explorer is out of date, or is infected.  Yet, when I run a virus scan none is found and no malware found when I run that scan.  Anyone else with these issues?  Appreciate any feedback.  Thanks

Support / Running total not correct
« on: May 11, 2014, 02:09:44 pm »Message ID: 879379
Thought I'd check here to see if anyone else had this problem:  I keep a running total of my earnings on a day to day basis.  When I added my .44 earning for 5/9/14 I had a total so far of 27.04.  On 5/10/14 I earned 1.57 so my total running should be 28.61 but my balance with FC is only showing 27.86    The difference is .75 which I assume is for a survey I took for .75 that is showing I was credited for but it is not in my total with FC even though its listed on my earnings.  I hope I explained the problem correctly.  Anyone else have this issue or does anyone think I need to turn in a ticket?  Thanks for any advice.

Off-Topic / Anybody like to crab?
« on: April 28, 2014, 12:10:11 pm »Message ID: 874287
My husband and I plus our local daughters and their families went to visit our oldest daughter and her family this past weekend and we had a blast crabbing for blue crabs!  If you've never been, you're really missing something (in my opinion)  You tie a raw piece of chicken and a sinker onto a piece of line and throw it out into the water.  A crab (or sometimes even 2 or 3) will start eating on it.  You slowly pull the chicken in on the bottom and when you get it close enough someone else nets the crab and the chicken.  There was 4 or 5 of us crabbing and we got 21 keepers.  They were delicious too!  My youngest daughter and I had a contest going to see who got the most and I beat her 7 to 6!  lol  We've been before and gotten quite a few more crabs than this time but its always fun even if you're only catching a couple of dozen.  lol  Just curious to know how many ppl on here have gone crabbing?

Off-Topic / Netflix vs Hulu??
« on: April 03, 2014, 02:21:14 pm »Message ID: 867173
We are thinking about giving up Directv as they have had another rate increase and its hard for us to justify spending over $100 for basic service (plus local channels).  We are kinda thinking about using Netflix or Hulu through the internet and I'm wondering if anyone has any experience with either of these that you could share with me.  I'm mainly concerned with watching series like Grey's Anatomy, CSI, etc. but of course movies would be a bonus.  Thanks for any input you have on this subject.
