Jimmy and Roslyn Carter celebrated their 75 wedding anniversary.  HAPPY ANNIVERSARY. I think that’s wonderful. Whether you agreed with his presidency or not 75 years is a great accomplishment

Off-Topic / Bill Cosby touring again
« on: July 08, 2021, 08:45:38 am »Message ID: 1359516
I just read he wants to start touring again.  He think his fans will flock to hear his jokes and what it was like for him in prison.  Would you even want to see him?  I’ll pass.  I’m not sure if he raped the woman or not only they know the truth, but I think he’s a disgusting old man.

Off-Topic / Hurricane Elsa
« on: July 07, 2021, 08:23:49 am »Message ID: 1359472
My brother went to Miami Law University many years ago, met a girl, settled in Miami and opened a practice.  He loves Florida but was tired of hurricanes hitting Miami.  Last year he and his wife (kids are out of house) moved to St. Petersburg (safer than Miami).  So one year later the hurricane is heading for Tampa/St Petersburg area.  I’m so scared for him.  Can some of you please pray it doesn’t hit land but if it does no lives lost and very little damage.  Thank you.

Off-Topic / New cat
« on: June 11, 2021, 03:58:27 am »Message ID: 1358227
Well after searching for a new cat I found one.  As you may or may not know, I only adopt cats and dogs that no one else would adopt.  I found this guy, his owner had dumped him and  he was in a high kill shelter in Maryland.   A rescue from my area  pulled him and other cats from that shelter.  He’s 14 years old, has mega colon, heart mummer. And is diabetic.  He was in my local rescue over 1 year with no applications.  He is now safe locked in one of my bedrooms (I brought him home last night). Today is a busy day for him, he goes to my vet for a checkup and then will slowly be introduced to my other cats, then eventually the dogs, then will have the whole house to call his own.  I think he will be ok, he’s sitting on my lap already when I go into the bedroom to visit. 🐾🐾

Off-Topic / Dying AC
« on: June 06, 2021, 05:54:53 am »Message ID: 1357929
Well we had the AC service man come to check out the unit.  It’s on its last leg and won’t make this season.  I guess we can’t complain, it’s 26 years old.  It still works but not very well.  We are looking at a major heat wave this week.  So happy they can fit us in on Monday with a new unit.  There goes another $7000, but it’s worth it.  I have COPD and don’t know how I would survive in hot/humid weather.

What happened to the spring weather?  Yesterday it was in the low 50’s dropping into the high 30’s at night.  Today is a repeat of yesterday.  I was planning in working out in the yard, but it’s too cool to be out.  Even the sun is not out lol.

Off-Topic / Sad Day
« on: May 07, 2021, 11:53:19 am »Message ID: 1356427
Today we buried my cousin.  She was 64 years old and fought a very hard battle with leukemia.  She fought for 6 hard years, but I think she was just tired of fighting and the cancer won.  I will miss her so much, as the tears are falling as I write this.  There are only 23 months between her and my sister and they always looked so alike it was scary, same build, hair color, eye color and the faces were almost identical.  She left behind a husband, two daughters, and two grandchildren.  RIP Suzy I will never forget you.

Off-Topic / Johnson & Johnson shot being on hold
« on: April 13, 2021, 04:24:41 pm »Message ID: 1354931
The Johnson & Johnson virus shot is being put on hold until the CDC can investigate.   There have been some cases of people having a blood clot in their head after getting the shot.  They reported it happens usually 2 + weeks after the shot.  Just heard this on tv tonight.

I very quietly confided to my friend that I was having an affair. She turned to me and asked, "Are you having it catered?" And that, my friend, is the definition of OLD!
