Off-Topic / Re: What kind of crafts do you enjoy?
« on: April 14, 2013, 08:38:05 pm »Message ID: 720984
I am not very talented when it comes to crafts even though I do like to try new things from time to time.  I do enjoy doing latch hook, painting (easy things like sun catchers or ornaments) and simple crafts with kids.

Off-Topic / Re: Tom and Jerry: Tom vs. Jerry

I love to watch Tom and Jerry.  I still watch them several times a week.  :)  I like how Tom never gives up and how smart Jerry is.....so my vote like several others would have to be a tie.

For many years there have been wars and rumors of wars.  I believe that no man knows when the world (as we know it) will end.  I do know that with each passing day we are one day closer to Christ returning.  There are also other signs in the Bible which tell us that the end of the world is near.  Personally, I believe that all we can do is be ready.  I believe that for all of us there will be an end....either an end of our lives or an end of the world.  In regards to what is going on with North Korea though I would tend to agree with dauna.

I think North Korea keeps making this kind of noise so that they will not be ignored and will be taken more seriously.  This kind of saber-rattling is a pattern for them.

To me they have always been dangerous due to the leaders that they have.  With this new, young ruler though there are some unknowns.  Who really knows what he is thinking or what he is willing to do.  I think that he likes the attention that he is getting and wants more.

Off-Topic / Re: What BRAND of COMPUTER are you happy with?

I am a huge fan of HP.  I have owned several HP laptops and I am a very happy customer.   Each one has performed at a level that exceeded my expectations.  I have had no problems with them.  As a precaution, I use a fan/cooler to help keep them cool and prevent overheating since I am on it for hours.   My experience with Dell has been nothing but problems.  Years ago I owned a Gateway desktop and overall it was an ok computer.  I  know people that Macs and they absolutely love them but I don't have any experience with them.

Off-Topic / Re: what do you do when you can not sleep
« on: April 08, 2013, 09:43:45 pm »Message ID: 718350
Many nights I have problems going to sleep or staying asleep.  On average I sleep about 3 or 4 hours.  On nights that I am really exhausted and unable to go to sleep I have a couple of things that I use.  Over the years I have learned to do two relaxation methods and they work really good for me.  I have a breathing exercise that I use which is basically slow and easy deep breathing.  The other technique that I have learned is to physically and mentally relax my body which in turn also relaxes my mind and removes any "junk" that might be bothering/worrying/stressing me.     I start at my toes and relax each part of my body.  Since I have been doing this for years I am usually asleep before I get to my knees.  I remember when I started though and how ridiculous it seemed to me.  I would start the process and I would find there were nights that it did not help very much.  I would go all the way to my head and still be awake.  I would start over and at some point finally go to sleep.  I kept trying them and at some point they started to work for me.  I hope that you find some thing that will work for you.   :)

I have just recently started watching this show.  I was surprised to find that I really like it.  Now, I would like to go back and watch last seasons too.   :)  This is a show I now recommend to family and friends.

Off-Topic / Re: Pizzahut or PapaJohns

It would probably be Papa John's for us.  We do like the stuffed crust pizza at Pizza Hut but overall taste we prefer Papa John's if we are ordering pizza.  The problem is that everyone in my house really prefers when I make it but with all the different "deals" lately it is a cheaper to order and have it delivered....not to mention that it is easy for me.   ;D

My favorite would be Crest.  I like the cinnamon flavored one the best but lately, for some reason, it has been hard to find.   :BangHead:

We usually watch them at home.  It is cheaper, easier and always has plenty of snacks.   ;)  For a special movie, we will see it at the theater and we usually take advantage of the matinee shows.   :)

The first game I ever played was Pong on Atari.  When it came out it we all thought it was so awesome.  We would play for hours...hitting that little spot (ball) from side to side.  Oh how technology has changed over the years.

I wear a 5 in most shoes.  My foot is on the narrow side and that makes it a little harder for me to find shoes.   :(   Sometimes I will look in the kids shoe department especially for sneakers/tennis shoes.  I have found that in some cases a 3-4 will fit just depending on the shoe....they are always less expensive too.   :)

I use to watch it more than I do now.  I still watch it on ocassion.  My daughter is a huge fan of the show.  She says that this year it will be Kellie and Derek to win.  Derek is the pro that she really likes.  I do think that over the years the "stars" appeal has went down some for me.
