Off-Topic / Re: How do you eat your potatoes?

I like potatoes fixed just about every way.  I have read that eating them cold (like in potato salad) triggers more nutritional value, which was a surprise to me.

When something needs to be said, I try to word it diplomatically but am not always successful.  If it is not necessary or would not be of any benefit, I try to bite my tongue.  Speaking your mind just to vent can do a lot of damage. A better method is to let it all out by writing a "letter" then not send it, or do your venting to God-- He knows your heart and can help you make good decisions with what you speak to others.

I just get messages that they are not available.  I decided not to mess with them and just do not pursue those tasks.

I have learned not to use the food-type scents (except for coffee scents) because they tend to stimulate my appetite.  I like the herbal/woodsy scents the best.

Not as a baby, maybe as an older child and only if I knew then what I have learned in life lessons.  Those are pretty heavy conditions, but as long as we are imagining the impossible...

The only soap opera I ever really liked was Dark Shadows (guess that dates me).  I was enjoying the remake with Ben Cross as Barnabas Collins but it was cancelled after the first season.

Neither of these videos would play for me.

The Mini Oreo video worked for me today but some of the others gave me that same message that you mentioned.  I also lose a lot of Radio Loyalty points because the page quits working before 30 minutes are up, the submit button fails, etc.  I keep switching back and forth between IE and Google Chrome but have to refresh the page often with both browsers.

Off-Topic / Re: question for the ladies

Another reason to consider about being on the pill is that taking it might make her more susceptible to giving in if/when pressured by a guy to have sex.  The pill might protect against pregnancy but not VD.  I applaud young ladies who establish pure standards for themselves and stick to them; peer pressure is hard to stand up against but not caving in will help her become her own individual and a person of character.  Later in life she will be able to look back with justifiable pride in her decisions.

Anything chocolate but I lean toward the dark chocolate these days, since that has some alleged health benefits.  I am not crazy about hard candy but will occasionally partake if that is all that is available when I decide to succumb to a sugar craving.  Seasonal candies that I like include candy corn and those decadent sugary eggs that have a marshmallow type center-- cannot find them much anymore.

Off-Topic / Re: How do you deal with muscle pain?
« on: September 08, 2014, 08:17:33 am »Message ID: 916110
Is the source of your muscle pain chronic or from doing activity you are not used to?  If the latter, I can recommend a preventative measure:  take aspirin and vitamin C about 30 minutes before doing something that might make your muscles sore-- the acid in those substances will neutralize the acid your body produces that cause the soreness.  If it is chronic pain such as arthritis, there are herbal remedies that some people swear by:  tart cherries or tart cherry juice, supplements with turmeric... maybe even the old standbys of glucosomine and chondroitin for joints (not sure I spelled these correctly).

Off-Topic / Re: Are you scared of the lightning?
« on: September 02, 2014, 02:21:21 pm »Message ID: 914547
I am not afraid of lightning if I am safe within my house, but I would definitely look for shelter if out in the open.  I actually enjoy watching lightning storms (again, looking out from indoors) but do not like thunder so loud that it makes my ears ring.  I understand that lightning strikes usually hit the tallest objects in an area, but there have been exceptions.

Wasn't it Rockefeller that answered that question with the response, "One dollar more."

People with respiratory problems or allergies need to be careful of feather or down pillows (and comforters), as they can trigger an allergic reaction.  Admittedly, they are very comfortable and not every person with hay fever or similar allergies will have problems with these products, but it helps to be aware what your bedding is made out of when staying in a bed & breakfast or somewhere unfamiliar.
