Off-Topic / Re: achieving a goal

It feels great to achieve a goal. I was able to quit smoking and I feel really great about that. no more coughing constantly and maybe my bones wont lose so much calcium.
Congratulations!  I have never smoked but have seen a lot of people who do and want very much to quit.  I know it has to be difficult and you can take great pride in your accomplishment.

I think I could but would need a very good reason to implement such a drastic measure.  Seriously, when I have undertaken special projects that I really want to do, I don't miss the TV.

Spiders and heights.  I will risk the wrath of environmentalists to rid my surroundings of spiders-- Ortho Home Defense Max, bring it on!  Since I started spraying with that product, my house is spider-free.  Now if I could just find a spray for heights...

I go for the meat lover's versions and/or extra cheese.  I used to order deep-pan pizza but decided that had too many carbs (like other crust types are real diet food--lol).

I really enjoy listening to Satellite radio when I am on the road.  It is a rather expensive indulgence and every year I debate with myself as to whether I want to spend the money to renew it for another term, but I like all the choices it offers.

I have avoided the paid-to-call because I was afraid that would open me up to receiving a lot of unwanted electronic marketing calls.  I sent in my number to the "do not call" site but I still get some.  I do not have caller ID on my home phone and they do not give a number (just voice commands like, "press 1 now") so I cannot turn them in.

When a video disqualifies me, I try to delete it by clicking the "X" but it always comes back.

My favorite snack combo used to be barbeque potato chips and ice cream.  These days I try to look for healthier snack options, like apples, dried fruit, a small amount of dark chocolate, or occasional popcorn.

Zach was my favorite character.  I had not thought about that series in a long time.

Yes, I signed the donor section on my driver's license.  Anyone considering organ donation but has trouble making the decision should read some testimonials from people whose lives have been saved or quality of life improved because they received a donated organ.

If you have trouble drinking enough water, adding ice or something to flavor it helps you to keep sipping throughout the day.  I keep a bottle of water next to my recliner which makes it easy to access; if I had to get up to get a drink I would keep putting it off "until the next commercial" or after opening all the mail, finishing the next chapter or newspaper story, etc.  I do not feel thirsty very often, which makes it difficult to remember to drink.

If you have the proper size a/c unit for the size of your house, it should not take too long to cool down.  I have a "smart thermostat" that I set on conservative while I am out of the house-- it recently reads around 80 degrees when I get home from work-- and it takes less than an hour for the inside temperature to cool down to 76 or 75, even during 95-100 degree temperature outdoors.

You might want to move to Australia--there is no tipping at all in that country.

All of the above (especially if I am not eating at home).  Usually during work days I have oatmeal and a boiled egg, both of which are prepared and refrigerated ahead of time so I can microwave them quickly before getting ready for my job.

Braum's has a pretty good salad, cannot remember the name but "someting"/walnut.  We do not have a Braum's in our town so I do not get to eat there as often as I would like (or to remember salad names, obviously).
