Off-Topic / Re: do you eat eggs
« on: January 14, 2013, 05:49:17 am »Message ID: 671881
There is a lot of conflicting information out there about eggs.  Some "experts" say they raise your cholesterol and some say it is not an issue.  Eggs are a great source of protein and very good for your eyes; however, too much of anything at one time is not a healthy option although once in a while a large omelette might not hurt you too much.  Some people have a genetic cholesterol proclivity and probably need to be more careful.

Suggestions / Re: Referral Activity
« on: January 14, 2013, 05:38:34 am »Message ID: 671875
I find the instructions for referrals are somewhat vague.  I sent my link via email to a friend who expressed interest... I hope this was acceptable.  After reading the problems others have experienced with referrals, I am a little nervous but want my friend to have the opportunity to earn extra cash.

Off-Topic / Re: Do you think reality television has gone too far?

The only reality shows I watch are "Clean House" and "Extreme Couponing."  There actually are benefits to these two programs:  The first motivates me to avoid clutter and organize and the latter provides information for saving money.

Off-Topic / Re: Do you like to wear jewelry? What kind do you wear?
« on: January 11, 2013, 07:46:22 am »Message ID: 670344
I typically do not wear necklaces but recently had an occasion for wearing attire with more glitz.  My local T-shirt pressed a realistic-looking necklace decal on a black shell for me and I loved it-- no uncomfortable weight around the neck or chains rubbing the skin.  It has been very versatile and dressy.

Off-Topic / Re: Are bananas healthy to eat?
« on: January 11, 2013, 07:40:47 am »Message ID: 670338
It depends on who's eating them and who you ask.  Some people have a problem with bananas due to being diabetic and/or having a food sensitivity.  Blood type A, B and AB individuals typically do great eating a banana.  Blood type O people might run the other direction.

That being said, we all know that bananas are a great source of potassium, enzymes because they are "live" food and fiber.  They're also low in sodium.

Try it.  You might like it and if you don't you can always make a different choice next time.

I am interested in the rationale about blood type affecting the banana-eating results.  Can you elaborate on this?

Off-Topic / Re: Peanut butter...

When you make your own nut butters other than peanut butter, do you use raw nuts or roasted?  I bought some almond butter once that tasted nasty.  The oil had separated and was floating on the top, which I had to stir up each time I opened the jar.  Those of you who have made your own, does this happen to yours as well?

Off-Topic / Re: how do you get exersie
« on: January 11, 2013, 07:19:21 am »Message ID: 670326
Many sources I have read state that walking is the best single exercise.  I have a treadmill that I use, but not every day.  One of my goals is to use it at least 4X/week.  On days that I do extensive housecleaning or yard work, I count that as my exercise for the day.  I also have several written exercises for specific body parts such as upper body, back, and neck that I want to work into a planned routine this year, maybe while watching TV.

Off-Topic / Re: Do you think the People preparing for the world to end are wasting their time?
« on: January 11, 2013, 07:13:54 am »Message ID: 670316
I believe we should live every day as though our time left is short, since we are never guaranteed another day.  This does not mean to avoid planning or preparing for the future but to make sure our relationships with other people and with God are intact and the truly important things are not procrastinated.

Off-Topic / Re: What if you won the lottery...

First, I would tithe the winnings then invest most of the rest in tax-free interest-bearing accounts (after the government gets their cut, of course--may not be too much left).  I would keep my job but take more time off and travel, travel, travel...

Off-Topic / Re: what kind of pet do you have
« on: January 11, 2013, 07:04:54 am »Message ID: 670303
I like pets but am holding out for a robot dog that looks, feels, and acts like the real thing-- no need to feed, water, or potty-train; when I leave the house or go a trip, it can be set on watchdog mode to protect the premises.

Off-Topic / Re: Do you trust other cash paying sites, or just fusion cash?
« on: January 10, 2013, 07:32:38 am »Message ID: 669749
I belong to one other site and received a payment, but they charge for mailing you a check which makes you have to have more in your account before cashout and the threshold for cashout is higher than FC to begin with.

Payments / Re: how is pay-pal just curious
« on: January 10, 2013, 07:26:45 am »Message ID: 669746
I have used Pay Pal some and have had no problems with it.  Pay Pal provides a useful alternative to credit card ordering.  I like this option for a one-time only order from companies with whom I am not familiar.

Motivational experts tell us it is important to write down our goals, the more specific the better, with projected dates for incremental accomplishments.  This really does multiply our chances for success in reaching the primary goal(s).

Off-Topic / Re: I Just Discovered Powdered Peanut Butter!
« on: January 09, 2013, 06:11:46 am »Message ID: 669131
I am getting hungry just reading all these posts.  If it is not too expensive, I would love to try it as an alternative to the less-healthy, calorie-packed jars of regular peanut butter as I tend to get carried away once I start eating this "comfort food."

Off-Topic / Re: WHAT IS YOUR DAILY PRAYER
« on: January 08, 2013, 07:17:32 am »Message ID: 668711
My prayer for today:

Dear Lord, help me remember that everything is not about me.  Let Your grace guide and flow through me with kindness, purpose, and dedication.  Help me to smile at others even when I do not feel like smiling.  Allow me to be salt and light, remembering always that my life is in You.  Amen.
