My sister is only 18 and she has turned into a complete couch potato. I live in a different town from her and my mom but I come to visit on weekends. When I come to see her she is always laying down either on the couch or in her room. She barely ever leaves the house and she does no housework what so ever. I am really worried about her because she has high blood pressure and she is only 18. Whenever I try to get her out the house she always makes up an excuse like her head hurts or she feels tired.I have gotten her to eat oatmeal in the morning in place for the ramen noodles she usually piles on but I still wish I could figure a way to get her to be more active. Any suggestions?

Seems to me she needs a little help in learning what to eat as well as a little motivation to get moving.  If she has a game system there are plenty of games that are fun and exercise.  If not, she can just walk outside.  Any kind of movement is better than none!!!!  She will not get any better unless and until she starts moving.  I too have high blood pressure and there are 2 things I do on a regular basis - one is to drink an 8 oz. glass of water mixed with 1 oz. of cider vinegar in the morning and the second is get out to the gym.  If you can't afford a gym membership, then just get out and walk around the block once or twice.  When that gets too easy, try going further and quicker.  I know, that once she starts and starts seeing results in the way she feels (and maybe even looks) she will want to do more - not less.  Also important is strength training 2-3x a week - either with weights or if none are available, use soup cans.  Additionally, if she has access to the internet there are plenty of free sites to help with diet, nutrition and exercise.  I wish her much good luck!!!!!!!  Don't give up on her - she can do it!!!!!

If I were a contestant on The Voice, I would want Blake Shelton to pick me because I love country music.  It's the kind of music that makes you think about your own life, your own experiences and your own background.  In addition, I would love to have Miranda Lambert join him in mentoring!!!

What's your stance on Gay Marriage? It shouldn't even be an issue, but it is, so I want to hear everyone's thoughts, especially those in opposition.

Gay Marriage should only be the choice of those entering the marriage and not for anyone else to criticize.  I personally have had many friends who are gay as well as a gay cousin who recently entered into a "marriage".  People should all just try to get along and live and let live!!!!!

What breed dogs you have?

We had Alaskan Malamute Husky mixed, black & white color 

I'm presently not a dog owner but rather a former owner of a Rotweiler and Siberian Husky.  Due to circumstances I had to find a good home for my Rotweiler and sadly my husky ran away and I could never find him.  So now, instead of puppies I have kitties!!!!  At least they stay put!!!!

Well I like papa john's because they add more sauce & the slices are slightly larger. I also like pizza Huts thin crust better though. I guess i'd have to say Papa John's is the best to me.LOL

I don't think either one is any good.  Being someone who literally was raised on Italian foods (including homemade pizza) I'm a hard person to please with taste of pizza but, there is one place that makes a pretty good pie and that would be Grimaldi's.  They cook their pizza in a real brick oven - like they did many years ago so the crust is always crisp, the sauce is perfect and the cheese is delightfully melted!!!!!!  Mmmmmm - now I'm hungry for pizza!!!!!

It is cold and cloudy out this morning. I think it is supposed to warm up a little bit but I don't know. The weather people lie to us all of the time about the weather. I don't even think they know anymore.

Well, I don't think the weathermen/women lie but, I do believe they can only forecast what they see on their little radar screens and heaven knows, that probably changes from minute to minute.  After all, the entire country has seen unusually warm and cold weather than in past years and no, I don't think "global warming" has anything to do with it!!!!  It think Mother Nature is probably getting senile by now!!!!!!!!!

Today 10-15-2012 and I saw my first Christmas ad for Target. Really?  It's not even Halloween yet and they are showing Christmas ads. This is getting down right stupid!         What do you think?

I'm with ya there!!!!  I think retailers are becoming more and more money hungry so they start out earlier and earlier every year with ads and such.  Heck, they even have DECORATIONS IN THE STORES ALREADY!!!!!  Pretty soon if they keep up this pace we will be seeing Christmas in July!!!!  I like the good old days when Christmas wasn't even mentioned until AFTER THANKSGIVING!!!!!

so here is a question...not sure if anyone will find this out of the ordinary...but what do u do with a child that is completely unmanageable....cant sit still, doesnt listen, cant concentrate, disturbs others for fun, in trouble in schooal, at home and on bus? Medication just isnt working!!

Well, I'm just an old grandma but when children are this rambunctious maybe it IS THE MEDICATION that is making him so!!!  Medication can help at times but to be honest I would take him to another doctor for a second opinion before I went back to my personal physician.  It seems to me the child may be ADHD or something like that and if this is the case there is help out there - just be careful what you give the child cause for all the good medicine does IT CAN ALSO DO HARM!!!!  Good luck!!!!

I'm pretty new at this but I would enjoy games of some sort.  I think they would be fun especially to play with other members.  Word games, mind boggling games, hidden objects all those would be fun!!!!!
