Off-Topic / Do You Use Whitening Toothpaste?
« on: November 01, 2020, 11:21:36 am »Message ID: 1343783
Do you use whitening toothpaste consistently and do you see any results?  Do you use the same brand?  What brand have you found most effective?  I heard that the method that dentists use with the light is quite painful. I can't recall the name of the procedure.  Anybody heard about this problem?  I have a lot of dental work, including implants, but I was wondering what people are finding.

RIP, he was THE best James Bond

I definitely agree that he was the best Bond.  I can remember when the first Bond film was introduced.  I believe it was "Dr. No!"  At any rate, I was living in CA at the time and there was a lot of hoopla about it.  I remember going to the theatre and there were a lot of people and the entire block seemed lit up.  It was rather exciting for my 18 year old self and i though Sean Connery extremely handsome at the time!

Yeah and you all see how trump had the virus for only 2 days and bam he is over it.  He probably will not end it until after the election.  I am so tired of it my self, because I always end up forgetting my mask at home. ugh.

::)  Not sure how people can be so ignorant.  Trump did not start it and as far as the virus he cannot end it.  Yes he was only sick for a couple days. People need to educate themselves.  This "virus" is NOT a death sentence.  Everyone who gets cov does not die.  Everyone who gets cov does not end up on a vent.  For the majority of people it is nothing more than a bad cold or a mild case of the flu.  SOME people do have it worse.  SOME people die from the flu.  Trump is NOT the one who is pushing fear and keeping this going.  That is your beloved demonrats.  All you people who think you want to live under communism either failed history class or you are just plain stupid.  If you want to live in a communist country then move to one.  The Land of the Free will do just fine without you.
This post is more dumb....LOL!A winner evrytime...LOL!!

I have to say that when it comes to politics and all the societal issues we are facing at the present time, I pretty much agree with you!!!

I agree with a former poster who said we ought to be provided some kind of explanation for what is going on with the Form Posting Bonus.  Actually, I would like to know why I cannot access the surveys on average about once out of every 7-10 days due to an "http 500 error." It has been going on like this for 5-6 months.  I have researched and discovered the problem is usually on the site administrator's end.  I have also tried just about everything to fix any problem on my end.  Frankly, if it keeps on much after the first of the year, I may stop using Fusion for awhile.

It is a rare occasion when I have more than $5.00 in my wallet.  When debit cards first came out I thought, "Well, I'll never use one of these!"  Famous last words.  Now I use my debit card almost exclusively.

And we are turning the time back!  Darker and darker it seems much of the day!  Here in Michigan the wind is howling today and that is making it cold.  November, December, and January are my least favorite months of the year!!!

Oh, yes, let's believe Rudy Giuliani and Steve Bannon.  Bannon is facing charges  and Giuliani is facing a mental institution if he keeps on as he has been. Even Fox News passes on this story due to credibility issues and the reporters at this newspaper didn't want their names to be on it.  Get a clue! If you are concerned about lying, look to your president, now credited with about 20.000 lies.  Why can't the guy be transparent and upfront?  Got to wonder about that?  Well, many of us don't anymore.

Off-Topic / Our Oceans
« on: October 05, 2020, 05:52:48 pm »Message ID: 1341408
Every year, 8 million metric tons of plastics enter our ocean, with an estimated 150 million metric tons currently circulating in our marine environments.  Plastic bags and straws wind their way into gutters, and large amounts of mismanaged plastic waste stream from growing economies and end up in the ocean.  It's like dumping one New York City garbage truck full of plastic into the ocean every minute of every day for an entire year!

This tide of plastic can and must be reversed.  Single use plastics must be all but outlawed/banned.  Use reusable straws at home.  Shop species which are sustainable when you want seafood.  Demand stores quit using plastic bags.  Start local, go state, and then move to the federal level.  It is time our government set an example and start saving our planet rather than removing regulation after regulation for anything environmental so that big money can become bigger, easier money.

I am looking forward to trying curbside soon, and once I have I will tell you all about my experience.  I intend to use several ecards and some coupons I have.  We'll see how it goes!

You might need to reinstall your mouse. I would type in "Microsoft 10 cursor problems or reinstall" in your search engine and see what comes up.

Thanks for the suggestion but I have tried deleting and installing new drivers as well as running programs which are suppose to search for any new drivers needed.   Right now my cursor is working fine again but I never know when an update is going to mess me up once more.  Sometimes it is minor; other times the update really jacks up my cursor badly.  I wish Microsoft would not encourage downloading new versions until they are free of issues.

I hope you are adjusting by now. I remember that my 50th birthday was the first one that really "hit" me!  For the first time, I, too, really felt like I was starting to get older. Well, now I am in my early 70s and realize, looking back, that the 50s were still a good decade.  In fact, between me and you (LOL) I met a guy when I was 51 who was 10 years younger and we dated for some time.  So there is still a lot of life left.  Happy Birthday!!!

Anybody bought a new computer that is solid state?  I am on the verge of getting a new laptop sometime soon (have been for the past 6 months-LOL) and am curious about how these solid state ones are.  I hear they are faster and do not become infected as easily.

Does anyone have one and if you do how well does it work?

I was wondering how everyone likes their air fryer too, what brand they have, and how they find it works best for them.  My problem is I have a little kitchen with not much counterspace left.  I need a small air fryer for this reason and because I live alone!

Off-Topic / Good Ole' Microsoft and Windows 10
« on: October 04, 2020, 01:11:41 pm »Message ID: 1341244
First of all, let me say I have a fairly old laptop which I installed Windows 10 on about a year and a half ago because Microsoft wouldn't leave me alone.  Sometimes I feel this was such a mistake.  I certainly hope that new computers with Windows 10 are much better than the experience I have had with it.  About every second or third update is a new challenge.

The main problem is how it messes up my cursor.  It is sometimes almost impossible to use for several days.  The latest update left me with a cursor that you can't drag items from one place to another.  It messed up 2 different surveys for me.  After taking various actions that seemed to make it even worse, I went into settings and took my computer back to how it was a week ago!  Problem fixed!!!

This is very frustrating!  Do any of you experience this issue?  How have you dealt with it, if so?

Off-Topic / Curbside Pickup for Groceries
« on: October 04, 2020, 01:02:28 pm »Message ID: 1341243
I have never ordered groceries online and then picked them up curbside so I have a few questions I am hoping a few of you might be able to answer. I am referring to either Walmart or Meijer.

1.  Can you usually pickup your order the same day?  Are there time periods you pick from?  How long are they?  15 min, 30 min, or what?

2.  Do you usually have accurate orders?

3.  Have you used this process for items like meat or fruit of vegetables?  Can you specify exactly what you want, like fairly green bananas?  Do you usually get good quality products?

4.  Can you use coupons or giftcards/ecards?

5.  If you order items like ice cream or frozen dinners, are they still well frozen?

6.  Is there anything you have learned that I should know before doing this that will make it better of worse?

Please let me know your experiences.  I am seriously considering trying this but would just like a little "up front" info. Thanks beforehand to all of you who help!
