Off-Topic / Re: Are you leaving the house this weekend?

It's partly sunny here now in north Texas, but temps dipped down to the mid-40s.  That's a bit chilly to do the much-needed yardwork even with it climbing back up to the 60s.  OK, I'm a wimp.  This pandemic is gettin' to me.  *sigh*  :notworthy:

Does this happen a lot? I have barely gotten my PTC for the last 3 days. Being new here, I'm wondering if I just need to hang in there and wait for the TAP come back? I like the site so far, but I'm frustrated and afraid to take time to do TAP if I wont be credited. I have other sites to do also.

That's a tough call.  As you can see by my banner I've been here a while.  When I started working FC I struggled with my first climb towards $25, but it was from my own lack of know-how with these sites.  Once I realized the drill for PTC plus the 5 cents needed to keep it going and the 2 cents daily email, I began to pick up the pace that everyone on FC was used to.

However, today's a different story.  Members who have been here much longer experienced the growing pains of the site.  In the years I've been earning it was leveling off (but I didn't notice that since I had accumulated over $800 in 2016 alone).  This pandemic has had far reaching effects on everything so it has to take some of the blame right now.  We've all been aware of how important Tap surveys are now -- and I do believe they will return -- so my 'biased' advice is to hang in there with FC.

Off-Topic / Re: Today is National Crayon Day

Oh, wow!  I missed it.  Actually, every day is crayon day to me.  Well, to be fair, I use highlighters a lot in my reading and colored pens/pencils in calendaring, but using crayons is a childhood memory.  I love the smell of a crayon though.  I would probably enjoy adult coloring books and crawl right back into my childhood with my Binney & Smith Crayola Crayons Box 64.  *sigh*

Off-Topic / Re: Sporting events no crowd

Yes, I've been watching horse racing (Fox Sports offered viewers a real treat by televising a few tracks in March on channel FS1).  That sport must go on due to the care and well being of the horses.  Racing can manage without the crowds due to the growth and establishment of simulcasting live feeds from the tracks for most of the racing events occurring around the globe.  Today, it still seems a little weird without the fans or the railbirds present, but the camera always points towards the action.

On the other hand, some tracks have elected to suspend racing for the time being.  This does hurt the industry, especially the workers on the backside who make their living caring for the horses currently in training and the area of the stable as well.  The road to the Kentucky Derby (historically held the first Saturday in May) has been radically altered by COVID-19; it is now pointed towards a September date.

Yes, persevering will pay off in the end.  I am amazed that after I completed PTC (after 2:00am CT) early this morning I was able to get 6¢ with the search offers found on my video page.  These offers don't work smoothly anymore.  I suggest, if you see this, you do not get put off by that warning page that this site is not secure (can't miss the red page when it rolls up) and simply hit the back arrow.  Then hit the forward arrow.  It straightened it out for me and the proper page rolled up (the one you are supposed to search by clicking on an item).  Once you click on something, leave it open for 3 minutes or so and then 'x' off.  You should get the credit in your account.

Mine have come in!  Yay!  This is so encouraging now.  I did hold back on attempting too many Tap surveys, but I'm glad I did a few almost every day.  They are paying into my account and life is good again. :highfive:

I am sitting on 4¢ toward PTC right now.  This is torturing me to no end.  No way left to get that one penny. :BangHead:

I'm a positive thinker -- it can happen today -- since it is now a week day.  Weekends are notoriously slow in normal times for earning.  But I'm not seeing anything in videos yet to support my positive thinking for my nickel today.  I believe FC uses some algorithm for the video page.  We just have to be patient.  :binkybaby:

Wow!  The end of the month IS almost here.  I was going to cash out on the last day (for an April payment), but with this new "normal" (Ugh!) that we are in, I may let it ride until Tap + FC sort this situation out.  Sure would be nice to hear from FC Admin, wouldn't it?  :dontknow:

COVID-19 has become the disruptor of this fragile new year/new decade -- no doubt about it.  So while waiting on Tap to start crediting again I found a James Bond movie marathon running on one of the U-Verse channels yesterday.  Try channeling the past with these movies and you'll forget all about this pandemic (at least for a little while).  Whew!

Yes, I had one -- "Explore Today!" showed up around 11:30pm and it worked for a penny.  However, upon trying it again it gave me the message that it was not available and please try again later.  I could easily have stopped right then and there and never gotten the full 5¢ I needed.  Instead, I waited a short while thinking about it, and then tried it again.  It kept on working one right after another until I reached 5¢.

For me this seems to be the case with the offers in my video list after 11:00pm and on up to around midnight or the search offers for a penny show up around midnight and last until I get five of them done.

Suggestion ~ try checking your video list anytime from 11:00pm to 1:00am CT (or adjust for your time zone).

Heads up!  I found one "search" video in my video list around 11:30pm CT.  I scrambled to complete it and received the credit.  So, since the same video was still there after refreshing the page, I tried it again.  It said the offer was not available at the moment.  "Please try again later."  Well, I did (and "later" was only about 5 or so minutes later).  It worked.  And worked.  And kept working.  The same "Explore Today!" was crediting me the penny so I got the much-needed 5¢.  Then I waited a few minutes, tried it once more and got the message that it was not available, etc.

My point is do not be put off by that message we've all seen.  I used to think the search offer was one-and-done.  It looks like FC is rationing the 5¢ we need daily to complete PTC.  Good luck!  :clover:

As of right now I am sitting on one penny towards the nickel I'll need for PTC tonight.  I say tonight because I'll lose the PTC bonus if I fail to do it before 2:00am CT.  I am hoping that the "search" videos will show up for me "live" around midnight again.  They did last night, but that window of opportunity closes for me once I get credited for 5 of these offers.
