Off-Topic / How many like lamb?
« on: December 12, 2019, 09:01:48 am »Message ID: 1304897
I grew up enjoying lamb on special occasions like Christmas, only to find out most of my friends and acquaintances have never tried it and think it sounds gross. Maybe it's an Italian thing. Do you ever have lamb?

Off-Topic / Who else is getting Thanksgiving storms
« on: November 27, 2019, 08:25:55 am »Message ID: 1302753
Saw on the news there are major storms affecting a few places across the country this week making Thanksgiving travel a pain. Anyone here impacted and where?

I'm in Phoenix, too warm to get snow but they said it will almost definitely be pouring rain exactly at Thanksgiving dinner time which might make it tricky for some of our older guests to come and go from the house.

Suggestions / Survey ratings
« on: November 19, 2019, 10:35:40 am »Message ID: 1301993
It would be great if users could thumbs up/down each survey on the main survey page. I just got scammed by another survey and it would be nice to be able to indicate to other users which ones have rewarded successfully on completion and which don't.

Off-Topic / Are you a debater or a peace keeper
« on: November 17, 2019, 01:12:37 pm »Message ID: 1301770
I don't have the mental energy to enjoy any but the most trivial joking kind of debate. Of course there are people who can manage to be offended even in a conversation like that. My position on nearly everything is that I don't care nearly enough to get into a debate about it knowing it's going to cause a funk with that person for a few days! I will restrict you to childproofed topics if you insist on offense-fishing.

Do you like to debate or would you rather play it safe and focus on things you agree about?

Off-Topic / Does anybody remember Hershey syrup in cans?
« on: October 22, 2019, 09:55:16 am »Message ID: 1297993
My mom and I have a recipe involving Hersheys chocolate syrup and we always used to use the cans, but I haven't seen it for sale for a few years now. We use the squeeze bottle instead but it's less satisfying, I miss the can as part of our tradition. They insist it's the same product but I swear it tasted a little different, maybe it's just the nostalgia talking. Does anyone else remember this?

Off-Topic / Are you "paperless"?
« on: October 15, 2019, 09:34:37 am »Message ID: 1297169
I opted for paperless with my insurance company, pay everything online autopay, and I still get so much mail from them. Once in a while I get a random physical duplicate of a bill and it makes me nervous like my online payment didn't take. What's weird is it isn't every month. Does that happen to anyone else?

Off-Topic / What do you say when asked "describe yourself"?
« on: October 11, 2019, 03:15:30 pm »Message ID: 1296735
Am I the only one who hates being asked that?

I remember once a teacher called on me in class and said "describe yourself" and I just locked up and couldn't think of a thing to say. His point was most people describe themselves primarily by their job, but I have never really placed a sense of identity in that. I have no great list of credentials & accomplishments to rattle off, I'm fine just being "a person" but it makes for a lousy answer to that question.

Off-Topic / What time would you wake up with no alarm?
« on: September 23, 2019, 09:35:14 am »Message ID: 1293911
Are you in good habit of waking up at the same time naturally or do you need an alarm set? How late would you sleep without it?

Off-Topic / Movie remakes that are better than the original
« on: September 19, 2019, 11:08:58 am »Message ID: 1293487
There seem to be very few new ideas in Hollywood anymore since almost everything is a remake these days and they're almost always inferior. Can you think of any where the remake is actually better?

The only one that comes to mind for me is True Grit. I actually liked the Jeff Bridges version from a few years ago a lot better.

Off-Topic / Do you collect anything?
« on: September 18, 2019, 09:58:31 am »Message ID: 1293373
What's your collection, how extensive is it, what does your family think?

I saw a minute of that collector show on Metv where some guy has every surface in the house covered with memorabilia and the wife is standing there saying a thousand words with just the look on her face...

Off-Topic / How do you fall asleep?
« on: September 13, 2019, 10:08:39 am »Message ID: 1292714
Those nights when you just won't fall asleep, what do you do? What do you take if anything helps?

Nobody say warm milk, because it's gross lol

Offers / Anybody ever notice the captchas...
« on: August 27, 2019, 10:26:26 am »Message ID: 1290077
On the daily cash email where you click the ad, you have to type the captcha correctly or it won't work. But on the paid to click captcha, you can type it wrong and it'll still go.

Off-Topic / Anticipation better than the thing
« on: August 25, 2019, 09:47:30 am »Message ID: 1289799
Are there times when you enjoy anticipating something even more than you enjoy the actual thing happening? The older I get, I think I'm that way with more and more things. Is it just me?

For example my favorite time of year has always been Halloween and autumn, and I start getting into it very early, and I think that "it's coming!" season of planning and excitement, and feeling the weather just barely starting to change, has actually come to far outweigh the actual day for me.
