I was so sorry and shocked when I heard the news on tv. She is such a young lady to deal with such a tragic situation. I hope she pulls through. She seems to have a lot of family and friends support. My prayers goes out for her.

Off-Topic / Re: What is the easiest meal you can make?

That's a great question for me  ;D. I'm not a great cook by any means; my wife is the master chef. But the easiest meal that I can cook is scrambled eggs, sausage, toast and hot cocoa.

Off-Topic / Re: healthcare and tax penalty

I have health insurance (thank God), and have had it for a number of years. However, I know there are lots of people who need to sign up for the new obamacare health insurance, or they will face a tax / penalty.

Personally, I don't think the tax/penalty is fair, because every individual should be able to exercise their free choice to have health insurance or not to have it. But, again, it is the law of the land; a law that I would never have voted for if I was a member of Congress.

Off-Topic / Re: Payza back in USA

I had just a few pennies in Payza when it became a "non-participant" in the USA. I really liked Payza. I had no problems with them at all. Every payout I requested was sent, and on time. I hope they do become a participant in the USA again.

Off-Topic / Re: what do you do when it is raining

When the rains come, I really enjoy sleeping. Falling asleep as I listen to the water falling outside, and hearing the thunder roll, just rocks me right to sleep. I also enjoy being alone and utilizing that "rain time" as quiet time to think and reflect.

Off-Topic / Re: What Do you Do With Leftovers?
« on: July 05, 2014, 12:59:41 pm »Message ID: 896755
I use leftovers to serve as a great meal for the next two days. My wife is an excellent cook, and she cooks enough so that we have leftovers 95 percent of the time. For example, we just had gravy covered pork chop (tender and delicious), sweet potatoe yams, macaroni and cheese, and green beans. We have eaten 3 meals from that preparation, and still have some left. Yummy!

Off-Topic / Re: Winter Storm Aftermath
« on: February 14, 2014, 07:13:42 pm »Message ID: 851067
This winter for us here in South Carolina was one of the worst that I can remember. I'm on the coast, but we still got a good amount of snow. However, the worst part of it was the ice on Thursday. Thousands of people are still without power, and they do not know when the power will be restored.

We had to open several places to serve a shelter (warm places) for people who were homeless, or had lost power for heating at their homes. I felt so sorry for so many having to experience real, hard cold for several days now.

But one thing that really blessed me was that every person interviewed on TV about the winter storm, was positive about their situation, and said that they realize it would take time for the power crews to restore power.

I'm ready for summer time :-).

Blessings

Off-Topic / Re: did you finish high school

Yes, I finished high school and I'm so glad I did. For me, high school wasn't such a terribly great challengel I had developed good study habits early in elementary school. That really prepared for the tougher studies in high school.

Off-Topic / Re: do you own a car or take bus

I own a car. But, I can definitely remember the days when I did not have a car, and the bus was the primary means of transportation. When we first got married, the bus was our thing. My wife and I really enjoyed riding the bus. It seemed like it turned into an adventure at times. Every now and ten we would take a cab, but that was more expensive than the bus. Anyhow, it's been a long time since we had to depend on bus transportation. Thank God for our car!

Off-Topic / Re: are you done shopping

Not quite done shopping yet for Christmas? My wife and I mostly shop for the grandkids, and sometimes, the youner nieces and nephews. We should get it all done by Monday. We never rush or start very early. We enjoy shopping right during the Christmas season.

White Christmas??? I wish. I live in South Carolina on the coast. Every once and a while we might get snow here. But, when it does snow, Christmas or not, it's really a great time of fun outside, especially with the grandkids. But, a white Christmas would be beautiful to see.

Just waking up this morning and realizing I made it to see another day. It's a great feeling to acknowledge the love and mercy of God, who watched over us as we slept all night, and touches us with his finger of love; raising us up from restful sleep. Now, that really made me smile.

I have not even tried to tweet to this day. I guess I'm kinda old fashioned. However, I really enjoyed skyping with my nephew some time ago. It was a new experience, but it turned out to be fun. Maybe twitter will be the same. I think I'll just go ahead and give it a try.

Every person has a right to their views on any issue. He did not make a personal attack on anyone. He simply spoke what he firmly believes. The real problem is this country has taken a very deep degenerate turn toward those things that displeases God and pleases man. Our president has led the USA toward making homosexuality a "National" sin. Uganda, on the other hand, has increased the penalty for practicing homosexuality in that country.
