Cat Food?

I was cleaning the other day & found a box of can cat food expiration dated 1999 & another box of can cat food expiration dated 2004. I know some cat owners that feed their cats expired food with no problems with the cat's health. I was wondering if I can still feed my cats expired cat food I found? Everything including cat food have risen in price. Should I risk it or should I just throw out the expired unopened cat food? Any cat experts out there? What do you think?

Because of the dates of the canned cat food that you have, I would throw it out .
The cat food has out lived its shelf life.

Would you eat something that was that out of code?

I would say to open a can and as long as there is no mold or foul odor it should be fine. And if your cats are anything like mine they will no if it is good to eat or not. A cat can sense if something has gone bad and they wont eat it.

I don't know about you and your cats but I wouldn't trust givng out of date foood to my cats or to myself.  My girls are part of my family I don't want to have to take them to the vets office because they got sick from something I fed them.  Well that's if they would even eat it.  My girls are very picky as to what they will and will not eat.
