Persecuting the Persecuted
« on: January 30, 2011, 12:08:33 pm »
Does anyone understand why people would be afraid of someone who was unjustly persecuted?  I think it even says in the bible that the Lord is happy when someone who has been persecuted unjustly is being persecuted more by family or friends who play the oh now I am scared of you game. Because why. Because you went the extra mile and did the work for humanity that no one else will do. I guess Im wired differently. However it makes me feel good that the Lord is delighting in humans persecuting me.  :angel12:

i don't think i've ever heard of anyone being afraid of someone who's been unjustly persecuted.  if others persecute that person more, i think it's just that they have the same vendetta against them, or they are just "following the crowd."  the scriptures i recall on this are Matthew 5:10-12 when Jesus says we are blessed when we are persecuted because of righteousness and because of Him, and that our reward in heaven will be great.  i don't think God is happy that we're being persecuted, but just that we have the courage and faithfulness to openly proclaim our allegence to Him even in the face of persecution.

I like how you put that!
