i dont have one personally but everyone i know that has a Kia say that they're really good on gas mileage.  they're also pretty affordable and have a reputation for being easy on repairs.  good luck finding a good car!

i prefer a civic because they have a decent resale value and are a cool looking car in my opinion, also they are quite reliable as i know because my brother had one, good luck:)

DO NOT buy a KIA of any kind. Everyone that I know has had numerous problems with theirs. They are junk cars (Korean made), and can't even stand up to our worst American junk cars.

Hondas or Toyotas are really the best cars. Thing is, because of the economy, people are buying those used, instead of new, and the prices are going very high on them. Some are going high blue book or more. I've been looking for a good used car myself.

Don't buy a KIA whatever you do!!!!!! :angry7:

I had a Kia Sportage in collage and it was the best ever! It was big enough that I could fit all my crap in, it got great gas mileage, and I never had one problem with in four years.

Yep! Honda and Toyota are the way to go. As a college student, I can tell you the majority of the parking lot is overflowing with beat up civics, accords, and corollas. They're reliable and will putter on forever. I've been eyeing the tacomas lately, and the resale is pretty darn good too.

Smart thinking. The resale value is the best on Honda's and Toyota's.

What reputation are you talking about? Go online and see what consumer reports are saying about KIA's. They are throw away cars (use once and then dispose). KIA's will not hold any resale value whatsoever. Also, be prepared to pay double what any american parts will cost you for repairs. Go online and do some research. A friend of mine bought a brand new Optima in 2003 and had nothing but trouble. It was in the shop 36 times over the 5 years she had it. She said....never again. 10 years/100 mile warranty is nice, but not when you are spending half your life sitting in the service center. Some things never got fixed on it, like the airbags were replaced twice and it still registered that her car air bags were unsafe and would not deploy in a crash. They replaced everything from the computer on down, and the airbag light was eternally on signaling a problem. Every month, she had something go wrong. From small things to big repairs. After she got it paid off, she junked it. She didn't want to sell it to an unsuspecting individual knowing they would have a piece of junk. Since I watched her go through all the agony, I'll never buy a KIA. A couple other people in my church have/had KIA's also, and they have stated the same thing........never again.

This. The engine is installed upside down; it has to be removed every time you get the oil changed! My sister used to have one, and it always had problems that were expensive.
