What to do about new member abusing the posting privileges?
« on: November 30, 2011, 03:22:41 am »
I have come to notice a new person posting on here that has posted the EXACT same 4-word message across all the boards, replies on all topics, etc., for a TOTAL of (last post/count - November 27) 24 TIMES!!  :angry7:    :bs:   Their other posts mainly consist of one to three word replies, and some nonsense or gibberish.
They have exactly 30 posts to date, so I'm assuming they are trying for the $3.00 posting bonus (which I'm sure they won't be awarded).
Regardless of the fact that admin won't likely give this person the posting bonus, I personally deem this behavior as abusing the forum posting privileges altogether.
Are we supposed to report this type of behavior to admin? (and if so please let me know how to do that).
Or do I/we just ignore them, and hope they'll go away?

How come it won't play?

It  seems no matter what group you are in there is always someone who tries to get around the rules. This person, after putting out their effort and getting nothing in return, will likely go find another group to annoy. ::)

If you want to report them, just look for the small text that reads "Report to moderator" in the lower right hand corner of the post.

Thanks, that is exactly what I was going to say too. People like that are just trying to make quick cash without doing any work. Obviously they bypassed reading the rules on the forum - "A contributory post is one that offers some insight, makes people laugh, carries a conversation, provides information or help, or something along those lines.  It's not spam, or an attempt to make money for oneself, and it's not short or missing content.  Basically, if you post just to meet the 30 post requirement, you wont qualify." If they remain on here all we're going to hear is how they didn't get their bonus and FC is a scam yada yada blah when all they are is lazy!

Well these are the same people that get on here and complain when they're forum bonus is denied, so let them cry. I agree, it gets really irritating reading the couple word posts or sentences that don't even make any sense. Or the people that will go and post 30 dumb questions to the wrong threads in one day.  ::)

Thanks everyone for your encouraging posts. This person's posts just look totally stupid (I'm sure some of have seen the posts I'm talking about-they made them all on the same day, and right in a row).

AND...@ mawhite63 and ULuvCeCe-
thanks for the info!! I did already do that, but it reports only that post. But my comment to them stated that this member had posted the exact same message 24 times.

Now I feel like a tattle-tale! :-[  (But it really did irritate me at the time!)

Although you only need to give the admins three message ID's, they still check out some of your other posts. They will probably not award them with the bonus and may ask them to change the way they use this generous offer!

I notice that too, and that is all he writes.  Maybe someone should tell him the rules of posting on this forum.   SO the next time we see that post, we need to reply back to him.
