Corupted law enforcement

How many of you trust you local law enforcement offices?

I know several of our officers and the corrupt things they do.  There are a few good ones and the other officers give them a bad name.

I know of several Officers and Sheriffs in my area who are really outstanding people. I don't know about corrupt cops, but I'm sure they exist. I do know that in order to become a police officer, you have to go through very extensive background checks. One of my old coworkers became a police officer and said that they interviewed the most random people, including old neighbors he used lived by as a kid. They are obviously pretty thorough, but that doesn't mean some bad eggs can't slip through the cracks.

     That is the real problem: "Some are good, mighty good"...others are terrible!

I do know that in order to become a police officer, you have to go through very extensive background checks.

I the background checks and howextensive and how they are done depends on where you live. I live in rural Oregon and they don't do an extensive check.
