Can you be "gay" on accident?
« on: August 10, 2012, 04:20:56 pm »
It has become obvious that some people are born gay or that a lot of people believe that. Also that some people believe it is a choice. I believe that some people are "gay" on accident. Discuss.

They are not born that way...they choose to be that way.

No, I believe people have morals, if a person wants to be with many people, it doesn't mean it is okay to go out and do it.

I think being gay is NOT a choice. They are born that way. There is nothing they could do about it. I also believe that some people are bi-sexual. Taking drugs is a choice not a disease. Being gay is not.

i believe becoming gay is a choice. People make choices everyday.  Even not making a decision is a choice.  Whatever drives a person to that fork in the road, they choose.

I think what you are trying to say is that some people are born homosexual and it is not a choice. I am talking about being here gay here. People are gay on accident all the time. The blooper reels at the end of some movies are evident enough. Around Christmas time, when someone gets a really awesome present, they get kind of gay and then regain composure. People get gay with it when they win the lotto, sometimes for up to a week. Like the word pride, there's multiple meanings to the word gay, it is just a shame that it is almost always connected to the homosexual/lesbian community. It is not a stupid thing to ask, especially when some homosexuals are angry and antagonizing.

Also straight people are "caught" wearing "gay" attire all the time in the city. That's definitely a moment of accidental gayness.

Since you seem to be the expert on all things "gay", what exactly constitutes "gay" attire? Just because someone dresses fashionably and takes pride in their appearance doesn't mean they look "gay". If a real "straight" man is supposed to look the opposite (disheveled, unshaven, dirty, etc.), then as a single woman, I would GLADLY seek out "gay" men.

PS: Your attempt to use the double meaning of "gay" to trap others is cheap and weak. Obviously, you're just trying to get a rise out of others.

In my world there are two types of gays people who are biologically gay and people who are sociologically gay. People who are bio-gay were born that way meaning it happened in gestation and this is no farce, no game. This phenomena occurs in nature. Their families knew from the time they were maybe four or five and their coming out was no surprise.  Then there people who were abused as children or raped and because of the psychological effect of the trauma have adopted the lifestyle. They may think they are gay but they are not. In my opinion this is a very serious matter and should be handled by professionals. To specifically answer your question no, you can't be gay by accident and for them it is not a life choice it is their internal wiring. Just to let you know the proper term is homosexual. I don't know your orientation but I need to say to you that all people are precious and should be treated with dignity and respect. They should not be called homo, or girl, or fairy or any other cruel or demeaning name. No one with dignity likes to be spoken to like that and it is inappropriate . The fact that they are gay doesn't have an effect on your masculinity if you are male or on your femininity if you are a female. So there is no need to attack them. They have the right to live and move through society just as we do and it is the law of this land and they too are protected by it. So that's all I can say on this subject and in case you are wondering I am a very happy heterosexual leading a active life. Be happy! :) :) :)

trying to get a rise out of others? I am no expert obviously but since you seem to be more knowledgeable tell me why homosexuals insist on using the word gay in a political issue known as homosexual rights. for your information I have not problems with homosexuals, the reason I bring up the attire thing is because fashion and attire seems to play a role in a lot of this. From what i get from you is that you have to dress a certain way to be accepted, which is all i need to hear on this issue. My point is that equal rights seem to be the stand point yet it doesn't exist internally in that community. take a step back from being offended as a first resort and take a look at what is set in front of you.

Fashion has nothing to do with it. I'm a heterosexual female, but I have many friends that are a part of the LGBT community. They are fight for equal rights within their community which DOES exist within it (since you basically admitted that you now nothing on the subject, I have no idea where you're getting these preposterous claims). Fashion has nothing to do with it. You were the one who brought up the "embarrassment" of being mistaken for homosexual based on your clothing choice. I was far from offended. I was confused. Now, I see that you can't assist in the understanding of whatever it is you're trying to say. There is nothing substantial in your post at all. Hence, I will leave you to your meaningless dribble.
