Has any one had to use emergency flares, a flare gun, or a fire extinguisher?

I have seen situations on TV shows, which needed to used roadside emergency flares, flare guns, and fire extinguishers.  I cross my fingers, for I hope we never need to use these survival tools, very good to know how to use them.  I had a small fire in the frying pan and I had to use a fire extinguisher and done and safe, was scary.  Got a story you want to share?

No I don't have emergency flares or flare gun... I did have a fire extinguisher but that thing is expired a year ago (I think my apartment complex has one downstairs idk might check later)... If I am driving far or near a woodland area, I would get a flare gun and some supplies just in case

used a fire extinguisher once to put out a grease fire that happened in an adjoining camp site a number of years ago. Could not believe that of the 20 or so 'gawkers' of this event that I was the only one that actually had a fire extinguisher!! Come on folks, this is a FOREST, like in large amounts of fuel and all... if you go there and know you are going to have an open fire, THINK about that thing getting out of control. All kinds of things can create a fire problem that have nothing to do with your abilities but the potential damage is there all the same!

I had to use a fire extinguisher at work once.  The electric powered cart I was operating shorted out and the wiring and underside of the seat caught fire.  The tricky part to putting it out was that I had to flip the seat up to get a clean shot at the fire.

Luckily, no, I haven't had to use any of them as of yet.  Hopefully, I won't ever have to.

No, I never had to. Hopefully I never will. But we do have a fire extinguisher at home. I used to have an emergency flare in the car but can't remember where it went.

I have never been in an emergency situation where I needed to use one.  I have shot a flare gun for fun though.  I do think it is a good idea for people to use each of these just in case they need to use it one day.
