The Correct Order of Dimensions

If you don't understand, here are dimensions I know of: width, length, depth, and time. What does a 3-D object have that a 2-D object lacks? Depth. That makes depth the third dimension. Time is the fourth dimension because history shows how things can change. So, what is the first dimension? Width or length?

The first dimension is just a line segment.

"Length", "width", and "depth" are just arbitrary names we've given to the different dimensions. Each describes an aspect of a 3D object, and the orientation of the object determines which term we use. However this doesn't mean that any are "first" or more original than the others. In fact, while one person may describe a 3D object in terms of length, width, and depth; another person could describe the same object but use terms like width, depth, and height. Using those latter terms, what would be the "correct" 2D terms? Is it width and depth? Depth and height? Similarly, there isn't a "correct" term for only 1D....
