Do You Ever Admit You've Had an Irrational Attitude in Your Life?

I used to be irrational because I didn't know how to deal with my autism. Reasoning is an extraordinarily hard skill for an autistic person.

Yes, I have been accused of that!  Especially when it involves my daughter!
Have a wonderful day!

I have to really like  having an irrational attitude right now, the graves disease cause some forms of it, so when i find that i am getting  really  upset, i just go off into another room with a book and try to get calmed down because i realize what is causing it. Just wish they could find a way to get it back into remission , Right now they have me on high powered  thyroid meds, which is sending me into hypo right now trying it and i feel aweful with it, Only a little over 2 more weeks before they do a blood test to find out. Can't happen soon enough for me. Then they will take me off competely for a week and start on a small dose again. It is an up and down ride.

I know it's late, but I think an attitude like that is just a phase that anybody could undergo and eventually outgrow.

Life is difficult while we are growing up. Sometimes, we just do not know any better.

I don't know if I would class myself as irrational, but there are times in my life when I know I could pick my battles a bit better! Like with my sons and how they should do things. I nag them to do homework, clean their own messes up, I like them to complete their chores in the order I chose, and sometimes every little battle becomes a war! My husband says I should allow them to make their own mistakes, so if their homework is not done on time, they will be in trouble with school, they will lose their recess. If their room is not clean, they will be embarrassed when friends come over. I think I should try this.

I know I can be irrational about some things because I'm so stubborn that I refuse to admit that I could be wrong or there's a better way.

Without going into details and although I hate to have to admit it I would have to say yes, there were times in my life I had irrational attitudes.  As I've gotten older I've become a much more content person and looking beyond the little, insignificant things that would get me worked up.
