restaurant business
« on: February 06, 2017, 05:37:31 pm »
there was a restaurant we used to go to.
it is a chain.
the one in the city I live in has changed hands and is completely different.
it was Italian food.
now, it is a hamburger place.
I wonder how the other cities are doing; if the name still exsts anywhere.
restaurant business must be very competitive.

Food businesses are very risky these days because people are choosing healthier options for their diets.

They come and go depending on how people like their food and service.

My family has had many BBQ restaurants in Northeast Arkansas but now have two and a few stands. The others have died. My last two uncles own the remaining and are thriving as always. The Shack in Paragould and Hickory House in Wynn.

it amazes me that two restaurants can be just with in walking distance of each other and one do great business and the other fails and has to end up closing down --its a gamble i guess to have a restaurant

Depends on the location and traffic... In one plaza, there used to be a supermarket chain.. Now it is an Asian supermarket and the parking lot is packed. Before it was mostly empty

Also in the same plaza, there used to be Five guys burger there.. Love tht place since it was close to where I lived. It shut down (I guess it didn't have a lot of customers) and a Indian restaurant took ownership of the store. They kept the same counters and lights. They get most of the business from online ordering it seems
