The Healing Power of Laughter...
« on: September 24, 2010, 12:06:52 pm »
You have to laugh to live, right?  This is one of the main motto's in my life. No matter how bad things get, I have to laugh about it eventually. OF COURSE, some things in life are no laughing matter, but even some of the major things can be hilarious if you look at it in a different perspective.

I think it is true.  But sometime there were things that prevent you from laughing because it's too painful for you.  I think that is one good medicine for life right now.

Certainly. And best of all, laughter is quite free!

There is an "old" saying (almost as old as I am)  ;)  "laughter is the best medicine."  I agree that it does wonders.  I am also intrigued by articles I read about the use of pets in hospitals, hospice care, etc.  I am an animal lover, and I know that having a pet buddy is good for the heart and the soul.

Absolutely agree!  For me it's a daily dose of The Three Stooges, and I'm on the floor laughing.  Then, I'm good to go.

I agree and the start of laughing is being happy, and when someone is not happy, he/she won't laugh much. These funny icons  make me smile and it'll turn into a laugh before too long! Otherwise I would be  :BangHead: and that would not be funny at all!

There's nothing like laughter.  It is the ultimate healing factor.  You can be down, hurt, tired, etc.  A real good laugh makes it better for at least that moment.

Another joke - Blond goes in to see the doctor who tells her she is pregnant.  She says "Is it mine?"
(Please don't be offended, blonds.  I just think the joke is cute.)

Laughter is good medicine. If one cannot laugh at least try a little smile, it helps a lot.

I love laughing!  Sometimes, laughter can end an argument or help you go through a bad experience.  When my sister is upset, I try my best to try to make her laugh.  The weird part of laughter is that it has a dark side.  Once it is done too long, your sides start to hurt and you begin to cry!   :P

Okay! I got a good one for you! Its gonna sound a little wierd at first, but bear with me!

So my Uncle Jesse passed away years ago, and we went to his funeral. It was a long beautiful ride out to his home town in the country with myself, my dad, my Aunt Genie(shes pretty nutz, and everyone knows it!) and my two cousins.(My aunt and my uncle were both cheating on eachother up untill the day he passed, and she waited an hour to call 911 after he died!! Creepy!)

We finally arrive at the church for the funeral, and everyone gets into place.  My cousins Ginger and Julian and I were laughing about really stupid stuff the whole way there, and we were pretty young, so we were already in "one of those goofy moods!" by the time we sat down in the pews.  The organ music starts, and its all somber and people were boo hoo-ing and such, and we all turn to the front doors to watch the palberers bring in Uncle Jesses body.

I was sitting next to my cousin Julian was poking me and joking around the whole time(who always manages to get me in trouble!) and my Dad sat on the other side of me. When they passed throught the front doors, they had a little trouble(my uncle was a BIIIIIGGG MAN!) and so they backed up abit, and readjusted and continued on. The music got softer and softer, and all of the sudden, out of the clear blue, one of the palberers in the back of the casket lost his footing and hit the door stop at the bottom of the door.

   BoooooiiiyyyiiyyyoooyyoyBooooyiiiiiiyoooooiiiiiiiyooooyyynnnnnng!!
:sad1:Loud as hell, and right in the middle of EVERYTHING!!!! :dontknow:

I immediately looked at my cousin Julian, and he was about to burst out with laughter!!!! Julian nudged me, and I leaned over towards my dad, an burried my face in his arm immediately, which was all I could do to keep from laughing aloud, and made a sound like: "mf-mf-mf" which must have sounded like a whimper.

I was about to loose it with the funny business! I wanted to laugh soooo bad, my eyes were watering!  I pulled my self together and managed a quiet giggle to myself. My dad put his hand on my shoulder, and asked "are you okay, Shaundre?" as if I were upset or sad-Not the Case!!!

I looked up at him, then looked away quickly(so I would't laugh in his face)
put my hand dramatically over my eyes and said "Yes!"(tried to make it sound like I was sad!) My cousin poked me again, and I gave him the "white flag" look, like "please stop, I cant take it anymore!!! I'm gonna loose it!!!"

My Dad patted me on the shoulder and the funeral kept going. I can't remember a time where I almost busted out with hilariousness it like that!! It was so funny~Ahhh, priceless moments of pleasure!

If you have ever watched the show "Silent Library", it was exactly like that experience!!!!!

So much for making a long story short~~LOL!
