There's a book called A Writer's Reference (Sixth or Seventh Edition) by Diane Hacker and Nancy Sommers
it is kinda costly, but I'm sure you can find a copy around $30-$40
but it is really worth it.
it gives you tips on sentence structure, punctuation, thesis statements, etc.
