what is life really about

I try to do everything right and no matter how hard i try everything is still going wrong...what is life really about?

A most philosophical question indeed and one I doubt that many have ever thought they had the answer to -- and even fewer actually did.  I don't know that I can give proper advice but I must warn you to not approach it as a contest where doing right (or wrong) is immediately rewarded (or punished).  Consider it more of an experience and so unique of one that it will never happen again.  Learn to appreciate the contrast in the ups and downs and the subtle and unnoticed things around you that have never mattered before or never carried any weight.  Stop living for others as hard and as harsh as that might sound and start taking care of yourself and appreciating yourself for what you are and do and try to do.  Slow down and look around.  Laugh at the bad and smile when you develop enough resolve to realize that no matter how difficult it becomes that it doesn't define who you are.  After awhile you will realize that you can grab life and shake it and take pleasure in the melee of the motions you have put forward as they interact with all things around.

I hope the above doesn't come off as too deep or 'out there', but with such a question as you asked their are not a lot of ways to fully answer.
