Anyone got any potty training ideas for a little 2 yr old boy?

We are trying to teach our son to use the potty however it's not happening fast enough for me.

Have you tried the Cheerios in the potty trick to give him something to aim at?  I only potty-trained a daughter, but hear this works great for boys.

I have an almost 21 month old boy and we set his potty up in the bathroom and anytime someone goes in there he goes in too and he sits on the potty (with his diaper still on) and he gets an applause and told hes a "big boy" for that, we are just now introducing the existence of the potty right now though he hasn't started training yet but hes not quite ready to sit on it without diaper I don't think.  With my girls I always put them on when I was going to put them in the bath when the water was still running that's when we had our first successes, I've never trained a boy though I keep hearing they're tough to train compared to girls. I guess we will see I hope maybe this helps or maybe you or someone else can help me it is a battle I have not yet really begun myself.  GOOD LUCK!

I feel your pain.  It took FOREVER it seemed with our youngest boy.  Once we actually achieved it, he had a bizarre obsessioin with only using certain types of toilets.  It was torture.

my mom taught my little sister to use the bathroom when she was 1..Well see my sister usually pee'd at the same time everyday, and so what my mom did was when the time came she would put my sister on the toilet and she pee'd. Now shes 2 and goes to the bathroom by herself

maybe the boy is a lil too young if u push it too fast u will end up makin him hate the potty i say this from experience i have 5 children and my first i tried to potty train at 2 and it did not work out well at all so my best advice to u is to let it happen when he is ready and u will know when that is but typically children don't even start to get interested until 2 1/2 to 3 and also remember that they should have some control over body functions b4 u decide to take this on GOD bless hope it all goes well for u and him
