This happened in Maryland. Thank God it was found before this student harmed someone.

I tell you that children who live in fear are the ones doing these things.  They feel so afraid and want the bullying or whatever act to stop, so they bring guns to school as a solution to this problem.  Bullying is wrong.  I was bullied when I was a child, but I kept those feelings bottled up until one night they erupted.  Nobody knows how these children feel, and this is the only solution for a lot of them.  I feel for them because children are cruel, but when you live in fear and want it to stop, the thing to do is speak up, not keep it a secret and not lash out by bringing a gun to school.  I hope the parents of this child understand he or she had no other recourse but to do so.
