Fireworks cancelled 😟

We had a beautiful weekend, sunny and temps in the low 80's.  Fireworks were set to start tonight at 9 pm, but about 5 pm it started raining.  Now it's pouring, so fireworks are cancelled.

I think ours was also cancelled, it's been raining  off and on all day so we decided early that we were not going to go. I think they had a rain date re-scheduled I will check tomorrow.

It poured here for about ten minutes or so, now it's stopped so hopefully the show here still goes on! so sorry to hear about yours though!

It's raining where I live too.  They were cancelled a number of places, but they are going on as planned in quite a few others.

This is too late for all of you who had their shows canceled and it is FAR from an equivalent substitute for the real thing live, but has anyone heard of or used periscope?  It is a website/app where people can broadcast live video from their phone.  You can watch live broadcasts from around the world from wherever you are.  A lot of it is junk and a lot of it is adolescent boredom, but last night there were fireworks displays being broadcast across the country!


Three nights ago, I broadcast the fireworks at Cedar Point while we were there and a fellow from Massachusetts logged in for a few minutes and thanked me for the video (you can text/chat to the person with the camera).  We decided not to go out for the 4th fireworks because traffic getting back out after they are over can be several hours and my wife had to be up early for work on the 5th.  So instead, I watched a Periscope version of the Cedar Point fireworks from my house.  I then watched fireworks at a trailer park in Illinois and at a couple LA neighborhoods.


Then I found a great periscope from someone in a park nearby Dodger Stadium.  As she panned around, you could see (and hear) the Dodger fans and downtown LA in the background and hundreds (if not thousands) of other fireworks shows off in the distance.  Some small, some large, but they were all going on at the same time!  It was very cool.

Ours was cancelled from the rain as well.

The people in my neighborhood are like rabid animals.  The louder they are, the most dangerous.  They leave the mess in the streets and on our property.  I do wish the law would vote in a law to stop the purchase.

I can't remember our fireworks ever being cancelled.  Seems like we them rain or shine.  I have sit in the rain for them. I'm sure it is a big disappoint for everyone when they are cancelled

It was raining on and off all weekend and on the 4th where I live but it didn't stop anyone in my area from letting (or attempting) to let off fireworks.
