Why don't you try exercising a little to get your body a "good" kind of tired to make it want to sleep?

Sleeping pills helps when you need them, not all the time,of course.

better than sleeping pills

just do this

as you breathe in, count to 4.
hold your breath for a count of 7.
exhale.
repeat these steps three times.

This has worked for me on most occasions when I can't sleep.  I have taken Unisom, rarely, but it did help.
I also think once you've gone as long as you have without sleep you're going to be overtired making it much more difficult to fall asleep.   I hope you get some relief soon, if not I would see you doctor.  Lack of sleep for that many days can be dangerous, you could start to hallucinate.

Try reading, that always works for me, and maybe calming your mind sometimes when our mind is overactive it is difficult to sleep, hope you find something that works for you.

Why not drink warm milk or take a hot bath to relax the muscles
