I’ve been getting repeated calls from Elliot Associates, Inc. over the past few weeks. They keep leaving voicemails about a debt, but I’m not even sure it’s really mine or if they have the legal right to collect it. I looked up their address online and saw they are a third-party debt collection agency. The caller was pushy and said I needed to pay immediately, but something felt off.

I found a page that explains what to do when they call: request a debt validation letter, don’t admit to the debt over the phone, and know my rights under the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act. Apparently they can’t harass me or threaten legal action they won’t actually take.

Has anyone else dealt with Elliot Associates, Inc.? How did you handle it? Did you request validation and did they provide it? Just trying to figure out my next step without getting scammed or sued.
