Maybe you should try some stretches. My dad has a pretty bad back and that always seems to help him.

tiger balm is my saving grace, a more natural form of things like icy hot.  I also have lidocaine patches.  stretching before and after will help keep things looser for the next round.

Tiger balm works well. Try taking advil too. Isn't Predizone a steroid? I thought it was used for having bronchitis or allergic reactions...don't think that will do anything for pain.

Try using an ice pack on your back and lay on your side...heat will just increase the blood flow in your back and create more swelling, making the pain worse. The stretching before and after suggestion is also sound advice.

I would call the doctor back and try to get some actual pain pills. Lortab is good if you don't use it for too long. It's addictive.

Here are some stretches that might help. Get on your back, and hold your knees to your chest, and hold your head to your knees. If that doesn't work, put your feet in a chair, and hold yourself up with your arms, and your feet in the stool, or something of the sort, then lean your midsection toward the ground. I hope those stretches work for you and your back feels better.

Pay someone else to do it.  You're wallet might hurt for a little while but your back might hurt even longer.

I have some lidocaine patches but they don't help because I have bulging in the small of my back so using a patch will not work for me.

my physical therapist told me to use both hot and cold packs because hot pack loosen the muscles and cold packs help numb the pain... thats always worked for me
