Is it really important for a woman to be a good housewife?  Isn't there more to life than that?

I think loving and supporting your family is more important than a clean house.  I would rather go to my daughters soccer game than stay home and clean.  Also, knowing that I do the best that I can makes me happy and in turn my family is happy.  I don't really care about others standards or what the neighbors think.

as much work as it is sometimes, I wouldn't change a thing about it.  I love being able to stay at home and spend time w/my kids.  They're little once!

1. Intelligence and time-management skills
2. The ability to  help your children, if any, with their schoolwork and moral issues.
3. Plenty of tasty, healthy home made food
4. Good money management
5. Clean house, mended clothes
6. The ability to persuade your husband to help out when necessary!!!!!
There's no ---- way anyone can do all this.

i know i am independent & strong enough to be ok by myself so it makes it so obvious to me that i am a good housewife.  my life is organized, the children are strong, healthy & happy, & my husband is my best friend.  i know i am a good housewife because there's nothing i can't tackle alone or with my husband that we can't get through.

The bible say that a good wife will be praised by her husband. It is evident that I am a good housewife. M y husband praises me and give me huggs and kisses every morning before work and every night when he gets in. Im so grateful that keeps me humble. My kids also emphasize the love and support from me as well and I have small kids age 3,5, and 2months. I have been at  home now for six years. I love it.  I thank God for my husband and i often tell him how much I appreciate him  and the wonderful life he has given us. I am also a praying wife. I think that is vital in every household. I still  have to seek Gods provision, direction  as well as  strength to be able to do all the things i do and still maintain love and passion for the family.  Great Question

I think it's important for the mother and the father to work together in all things.  Of course, both will have their roles to play in the bringing up of children and the management of the home, but I think having a mind of unity and loyalty, and striving to be a helping hand for the other at all cost, is key to success.

I am not married, so perhaps my views are still tainted by youth, but I know how things are with my parents.  My mother is a stay at home mom, and my father works.  My mother does most of the cleaning and cooking and caring for the home, but my father always strives to help with what he can when he is home.  While my mom is cooking, he is never just sitting around.  If she is working, he is working.  He might be fixing something in the house or on the car, or if nothing else, helping her prepare the meal.  He strives to serve her and put her well being first.

It's a great example for me.  I want to be the same way for my future wife.  My mom gets sick a lot, and he takes up all the slack when she cant do much.  I don't live at home anymore because I'm older and going to college, but their example of unity and love will always be with me.

So I think the most important thing is selflessness.

That is wonderful mstachitus. I am glad that your parents have been such tremendous role models for you. I didnt growing up with both parents in  but my life. My Dad was in the service(army) didnt see him alot is been good because of my grandmother teaching. I lived with her most of my childhood, because of her. I am happily married with 3kids.(3, 5, and 3months) We bought a home, travel every year,my kids are doing well.  I just enjoy life. I am now 37. Sounds like you have a great family. Im sure your life will be great too. I wish you the best.

Well for me whether working or unemployed a woman's job never ends. If you have children a mother's job never ends. It just really helps when you hear from your husband that you're doing a great job. That's very rewarding. Anyone else can tell you that you're great but if you don't hear it from your husband that's sad.
