Greed, disgust, and vomit
« on: August 02, 2010, 01:01:59 pm »
Did you attend Chelsea Clinton's wedding? No? Me either. I didn't get invited but I've heard a grand ole time was had by all. Well, I certainly hope so, it only cost around 2 million...(they deny it was over 6 figures) ...the flowers alone were over 50K!!!!! Wonder how much the cake was? Wonder if they've scheduled the divorce yet?

An online friend who lives near Rhinebeck told me the day before that all the roads were closed there and a hotel that had been on the market was taken off the market when someone called and reserved ALL the rooms!

OMG what a waste of all that money just to show the world that they could afford it or outdoing a friend or enemy.  I wonder if people like that ever think that no wedding is worth 2 million dollars or more.  But I am sure that all the planners and vendors appreciated the money.

I know. Wouldn't it have been awsome if the pair had a private courthouse wedding and donated all that money to feed the hungry and homeless people in the world!

i just can not understand why people are so willing, and eager for that matter, to waste that much money on ONE DAY!!! yes, a couple's wedding is (or at least should be) one of the most important days of their lives but is it really worth it to go into debt for it? we had a very simple wedding, the whole thing cost less than $500, with very few guests (our kids, siblings and parents, i.e: the people we love most in the world) but it was still an amazing day, a memory that will never leave my mind or my heart. i did not need to wear a designer gown, i found a beautiful dress that fit me perfectly, was the 1950s style that we wanted for our wedding and was less than $40 at a small locally owned dress shop. my "maid of honor" was my sister and her dress was also bought from that store for less than $30. the store owner was such a doll that she even threw in a dress for my "flower girl", my 2 month old daughter, for free. my flowers were also free, cut fresh by our neighbor from her beautiful flower garden. we did not waste a cent on a photographer, merely asked that everyone bring their digital cameras and take as many pictures as they could, that i later went through to pick out the ones i wanted to create a beautiful album. we did not spend any money on caterers because my mother and mother-in-law made a delicious buffet of food, and i made my wedding cake myself. most importantly, i was not stressed or upset during wedding planning, there were not any "bridezilla" moments because we kept things so simple.

also, how stupid will these people feel if this marriage does not work out? how horrible would it be to look back and realize you spent 2 million dollars on your wedding just to turn to around and spend thousands more on divorce?

This thread is full of jealousy and I love it.

They worked for their money. They can spend it how they want.  Just because all of your lives suck doesn't mean everyone's life sucks.

If I were the parents of a daughter with a face like that I would be willing to pay that much for anyone to marry her. Lol just kidding...maybe.

This sounds like the worst wedding ever.

I didn't have to pay for it so I don't give a rats *bleep* about the cost or the details.  I wish them well but I could care less.

wow, i can not believe how incredibly rude your comment was.
and not that i have to expain myself to anyone, my post was not out of jealousy for what these people have and were able to spend on their wedding, it was my personal opinion about the situation.
