Racism...
« on: August 02, 2010, 10:41:20 am »
I wanted to post this because this subject I am run into quite often now that I reside in the south..What is your thoughts on this??
Do you think there is too much?? Is it even in all races?? What do you do to change these views?

My thoughts on it is it stinks and I think it is time it was gone..People are people color does not mean *bleep*..I am I guess by looks I am  white but technically I am German and Polish so not really white lol..And well who knows what really lies in my past family roots..Any how..I see no need for it what so ever..

I think there is way to much and some people can be so disgusting about it it is scary..

I think Yes and No..Depends it can be even no matter what..But some places in the world one race is more picked on then others..It really needs to change.

Me personally i was never taught to see differences in color or in people in any way..So to my children I teach the same to love all no matter what see nothing but a human when you look at people..And I treat all humans the same no matter sexual preference, religious beliefs, color, ethnic background or whatever else as a loving human being as one with me..

can you just imagine what our country would be like without racism?  So much happier, everyone getting along, people from everywhere want to come here to the land of the free and opportunies abounding, what must they think when they get here and there is all this inside craziness going on, they think of us as a loving caring country because they see all the outreach programs and the help our country gives and then when they get here they see all the infighting and they have to wonder how can people be so cruel to one another when they have so much, there is something for everyone here. the sad truth is racism does exsist and it probably always will, for those that harbor those hateful feelings no matter what race you are, you should know that that is not what america is about. all of our ancestors in some way shape or form contributed to the building of this great nation, with hopes that those after them would continue to build on they're work.    :peace:

There is no racism in the US any more.

Racism is a belief or doctrine that inherent differences among the various human races determine cultural or individual achievement, usually involving the idea that one's own race is superior and has the right to rule others.

President Lincoln outlawed slavery over 100 years ago.  Therefore, since whites no longer "own" blacks as livestock there can be no racism in the country.

There is however, bigotry and discrimination based solely on ones skin color.  Whole industries are based on this bigotry and discrimination.  Reverend Jesse Jackson, Al Sharpton and to some extent Barack Obama have profited from race based poverty pimping.  People thought that by electing a black man President this would go away.  Nothing could be further from the truth.  I think it has been intensified and is being used to silent dissent.  Anyone that disagrees with Obama's policy gets labeled a "racist" and the discussion becomes race and not what disastrous policies Obama is pursuing.

Personally, I don't care what color your skin is nor if you are male or female.  These are the two things you had zero control over in choosing and to toss you in the bad column based solely on this makes little sense to me.  Your character in regards to how you treat me will determine that.  Your character is something you have complete control over.

I didn't vote for Obama not because of his skin color.  I didn't like the content of his character.  There was ample information out there about how he gravitated towards socialism and Marxism.  He despised the private sector and thought government was the best and only way to solve problems.  I thought if he was elected he would be a disaster for this country.  I am, unfortunately, correct.  The passage of ObamaCare against the will of the people has injected more uncertainty into the business world so that nobody is hiring any more people than they need to get by.  Businesses need to be able to accurately predict profitability in order to survive and to grow.  The policies being pursued by Obama and his Democrat allies in congress are doing the opposite and the whole country is suffering economically.  Unwilling to change course and constantly blaming his failures on the previous President isn't helping.

We need to stop his agenda at once.  We need to change the balance of power in Congress.  Remember in November. Fire all Democrats.  Hire Republicans, Libertarians, and Independents who will govern based on the principles in the US Constitution.  Don't elect any more RINOs [Republican In Name Only] like Arlen Specter or Charlie Crist, this is not helping.  Electing strong conservatives is what is needed to stop this downward slide towards misery for all.  America can lead the world again in prosperity if we can get government out of the way.

I think everyone is a little racist.

Beware...link may be offensive...http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=x9CSnlb-ymA

The difference lies between how we think and how we act.  We may be wary if we see a large black man on a city street corner at 11pm, but do we treat him differently than we would a white woman?  Racism is not something that can be eliminated overnight.  Sure, our parents can teach us there is no difference, but take a look at the 1967 movie Guess Who's Coming to Dinner?.  With each generation, we eliminate some of that racism, but it will take years for it to be completely eliminated.  We must practice what we preach.

I LOVE AVENUE Q!!!! :-D

Rather than thinking racism is overabundant, I think stereotypes are the major problem (both the name-callers and the actual stereotypes) in this country. This goes for all races.

I believe its wrong.  But it depends on where you live as to whom its worse for some areas its african americans, some mexicans, other asian people, some its even whites.  Regardless its wrong, I could care less what you look like if your nice I like you if your a jerk I dont.  However that being said dont perpetuate the bad stereo types.  You dress like a thug guess what thats what people will think, dress like a hooker well duh.

I've lived in the South all my life.  While I SEE that it exists- I try not to be part of the disease. I have learned that it is the person that matters, not the appearance of the person.

The wedding is the best part, IMO.  You just know a Japanese chick named Christmas Eve marrying a white dude named Brian has got to be funny.

Wait...is that racist?  j/k
