Deep Fried Candy Bars
« on: October 22, 2010, 10:59:42 am »
I've been wanting to try these. Has anyone actually made them? Can you use Pancake Batter Mix? Are they worth the trouble? What is a good Candy Bar to fry? Sorry for all the questions, just want to cover everything I can think of.

Yes I have, we have fried snickers and you do use pancake batter.  Make sure your oil is very hot.  We have also fried oreo cookies (very good) and ice cream sandwiches.

Thank you for the info. I can't wait to try this, even the cookies.

I have never had one, but there isn't many things you can deep fry that aren't good! I have had fried ice cream. That is yummy!  ;D

I have never tried a  Deep Fried Candy Bar, it actually sounds kind of weird and not necessary

Wow, sounds like a heart attack waiting to happen. I have to admit, I would try it though.

I tried this last night. I'm addicted!!! First I used Milky Way Bars, they were so good that I had to go out and buy some Snickers, excellent. It helps to freeze/chill the candy bars first. Today I'm trying the Oreos. I saw a show on FoodNetwork that had deep fried Bacon Strips...I'll have to put 911 on speed dial!

you just take a candy say oreos and you put them in a deep frier for like a minute until they are crispy and not soggy. thats about it. u can do it with twinkies too.

OH my .... I am so opposed to fried anything.  I love Candy Bars and I bet it "tastes" good but not good for you sooooo I don't think I will ever be trying that one.
