cell phone uses while driving

What do you thing about them putting a device in the cars to stop cell phone from going off while the car is in drive?

I think that it is a good idea just to help preavent more accidents, but at the same time i thing it is not a very good idea. What would happen if you get in a wreck and cant take the car out of drive and cant get out of the car. They needs to be  a way to shut the deavice down so you can use the phone in emergice.

Wonderful point. I wish people would just take more responsibility and not talk/text while driving. I understand when people are trying to locate a place and talking to the person so they can arrive at their destination but even that is pushing it for me.

I just got a cell phone a few weeks ago and I have used it while driving but It is not safe.  I have seen so many people on them while driving and they are not paying attention to what they are doing.  My grandson has drove throught New York and it is aganist the law to talk on a cell phone there.   I wish every state had a law to ban cell phone use.

I have watched more people here lately just talking away on the phone not having a clue as to what is going on around them!    They are just in a moving vehicle not knowing what they are doing whatsoever!!!!    If they need to talk that bad PULL OVER...or better yet STAY HOME!

Yes safety is the first prioity but it should be are choice to have our cell phones on incase of something serious. Another one of our rights going away..........

I have one but never use it when driving.  I don't use mine an awful lot, so it would take some concentration to use it while driving.

I don't like living in a nanny state.  We need to stress responsibility rather than trying to outlaw everything.  I don't often talk on my cell phone even when not in the car so this isn't something personal but it's an intrusion that's wrong in so many ways.

if you like danger then talk on the phone while driving . cause sooner of later the nightmare will start that mostly end up cause someones life.

i dont believe cell phones should be used while driving. my sons life was taken because one simple phone call that a girl had to make to her friend about a party.

I am not a big fan of texting and driving, but I think its kind of unfair that its against the law to talk on your phone and drive. Its almost as bad as the no smoking in cars law.. What next? No smoking in your own house?

People need to be more responsible...especially if there are other people (friends/kids) in the car.  I've realized that even if you are a careful driver you should always be on the lookout for other drivers who are not so careful.  You definitely CAN NOT be aware of what's going on around you if you are texting or talking on your phone

Every one has a good point it is good to not use the cell phones while in the car but they should not have to take our rights away. We do need to put it into peoples minds and get them to under stand the cause and effects. Just here the other day I had the right away and some guy almost t bones me due to him running the red light. It looked like he was on the phone as well.
