true hackers are very creative nowadays, maybe a prepaid card is better.

I got my7 first order online using a credit card. I guess it is okay as long as the site is verified...

I only use a prepaid "credit card" to make purchases online, and this includes doing offers too. It is the safest way I think, because even if someone gets my number, or tries to charge something more than what I approved it will not go through or work. A prepaid card ONLY has and gives access to the money YOU put on it. There is no spend x amount of dollars and THEN pay it off. When I find something I want to buy, or do, then I simply load the card with the amount of money needed, and use it. I might have a few extra dollars on my card at a given time, but never more than that. The other good thing is like if I only put or have $10 on my card, then it will not allow me to buy something and charge it with over $10. I can only spend what I have on it, so if someone steal the number or the card, good luck to them trying to go on a spending spree. As for offers, good luck to some site trying to charge me for something I did not approve or want, LOL. The other great thing about these cards, is you can have more than one. I have one I use with offers, and random online purchases, but I have another that I use for direct deposit, or to get paid through paypal with and etc... and this one is never used to purchase anything. I only use it to withdraw money from the card at an atm, or to transfer founds to my spending card.
I Am Who I Am, If You Don't Like Who That Is, Then Go Away, Because I Will Still Be Who I Am Regardless Of What You Think Or Say.

Even when you use your credit card at the store it goes into the computer system.  So using a credit card at all isn't completely safe, but the internet is just as safe as a regular store.

In a way that is true, but as she said maybe a repaid credit card is not soo bad. :-)

If I feel uncomfortable giving out that information or feel sketchy about the site I will often do a search online with the "name of the site" and the word "scam".  Ex: (free money site scam). You can decide how you feel about the site with the new information you find online.

I would never give my credit card info or SS number for any survey.  I don't like giving my DOB either.  I usuall give the month and year but not correct date unless I am familiar with the survey group that I do for all the time.  I wish they would only ask for month and year would make me feel better about it all.

I wouldn't put it on surveys but when buying things online I trust the company's credibility.
