Do you hang clothes outside to dry?
« on: March 28, 2011, 09:21:54 am »
Are you able to have a clothes line where you live?  Where I live now, I am not allowed to have one.  I used to hang everything outside to dry when the weather permitted.  Obviously, when we had our Minnesota winter, I did not hang outside.  I even used to hang towels, but I would first put them in the dryer for a few minutes.  I loved the smell of sunshine on fresh washed sheets.

I usually go to the laundry. Since the laundry where I live is not working, when I wash something, I just hang it in the bathroom (takes longer to dry.) BUt yes, I am able to have a line outside my place to hang my clothes.

Yes when the weather is nice we hang the clothes out instead of using up electricity in the dryer.

Well I dont like it here in florida because the climate put the clothes hard after it dries. But back in Puerto Rico I love to hang my clothes.

We have the clothes line and the dryer. You are right. It is preferable to hang clothes out to dry using the natural sun that can save your electric bill. This is especially most advantageous during the summer between the hours from 10-3 pm when the heat of the sun is the strongest. I admit I’ve used the dryer out of habit.

Nope, not where I live. I just use the dryer which is right next to the washer  :)

Yes, I hang out laundry all the time when the weather permits. We have lines in our basement, but still use our dryer. I would like to get rid of it and put the money in the bank.  :)

I live in Florida and I love it. I call it my SOLAR clothes dryer. I believe that for a large household the dryer is right after the water heater in power expense. I figure it saves me at least $25 each month which is about what I make on Fusion Cash. I think it might be good training for a teen ager to do it. It is clean and easy to do. {lus the clothes smell great. Let them have the power expense savings. They might learn the value of money. :)

I remember growing up my mom would always hang things to try - particularly bed sheets.  While I lived in an apartment, I just used the dryer, but now that I have a house, I may think about drying clothes outside myself now.  Just have to figure out where to put them as there's no posts setup in the yard for hanging clothes.

Back in my place, I used to dry that way but not in US. Here 6 months snow and 6 months summer. Moreover, apartment people will be complaining about the water falling from patty if we were to do any of this kind.

My mom used to do this and i love the smell of clothes or bedsheets that have been dried out in the sun. That being said, I don't have a place to put a clothes line up outside where I live.

I have the space to hang my clothes outside I just don't like the smell that it leaves on your clothes.
