They party all the time, so I do not know them.

I have great neighbors!  They don't intrude, but call or email to let us know important info.  For example, one called today to let us know there was a doberman and rottweiler loose in the neighborhood that were not friendly so to avoid them if possible.  Saved us from potential harm!

Yes.  I've lived up this hollow more than anyone else except for my mother-in-law.  Most neighbors are relatives.
Have a wonderful day!

i cannot get along with my neighbors but i play st*pid and say hello since we live to close and i dont want no problems where i live at, i cannot wait till the day they move out, just thinking about them as i write about them gives me a very bad taste in my mouth..
[I think the secret to getting along with your neighbors is knowing where to draw the line. You should also have respect for other peoples rights and property. If you are paying attention to your own life and family enough, you don't have the time to know much less like or dislike anyone. Just be polite and move right along, help if you can and keep your conversation simple and remember them on their special occasions. If it's really bad maybe you might think of relocating. Good luck :BangHead:/quote]

I generally feel like neighbors are like in-laws.  You can't expect to get along with them, hopefully you can keep from killing each other.

There OK.  I just wish they'd either get rid of half their cars, or tell their relatives to park somewhere else beside blocking my driveway!   Aaaaargh! :BangHead:

I'd say like 90% of them are awesome.

The other 10%..... Like radlady we have German Shepherds too. There are people in our building who, I kid you not, literally scream and jump when we get off the elevators. One woman has twice run screaming out the front door when we passed by.

I mean, I get being afraid of dogs, I used to be that way too. But I never acted like a histrionic fool just at the sight of one.

If you have ever been bitten or mauled by a dog, then you will get why some people are terrified. If you ever saw it happen to someone, will make you take another stance of man's best friend. They have a leash law here in California and it's strictly enforced. What people don't understand, is that although dogs are domesticated....they are still animals. I've seen dogs get a taste of the right kind of blood (human, animal, reptile, etc.), and completely change. Some breeds have some genes that are wild. Take a half breed wolf/dog. There are a lot of them in Alaska. Many people think they can domesticate them, but find out it's an unstable balance. Some dogs have been bred to be attackers because it's already in their genes. It's no coincidence that German Sherperds are used mostly for K9 units. There is something in the genes that can be quickly trained/changed to be dangerous. Do you know that most police officers do not befriend their K9 counterparts because it "softens" them.

Any dog is capable of changing. I do not like dogs myself and carry a weapon with me when I go walking around the neighborhood. If your dog comes at me with no leash, it's going to get hurt. It's either me or them.

Sorry for taking this off topic, but the above comment caught my attention and calling someone a histrionic fool for a substantiated fear is not fair.

My neighbors are okay I guess.  When I see them I say hello.  But that is about it.  As long as they don't bother me, everything is fine.

Actually, I have been bitten by someone's untrained, off leash dog, and still have the scars from the stitches.

But I never acted like a histrionic fool when I saw a leashed dog walked by it's owner.

I get along with my neighbors but don't embrace every opportunity to go out of my way to talk to them.  I have one side of my house bordered by a family with an obnoxious little boy that asks a million questions and the other side is bordered by an older couple with an older man who has his nose in everything.  He ends up being quite helpful because he knows how to fix things and has tons of tools for every job imagineable.  We do have some loud neighbors across the river that our back yard borders but they come out of their house like once a year.

I've never known how to get along with neighbors. I grew up in the country never having seen my neighbors so I don't really know how to treat apartment or house neighbors in town. I tend to keep to myself and say hi if I cross their path but I don't go out of my way to talk with them.
