I dont think people should get mad about you expressing how you feel. I would email the admin and let them know. People who just do quotes or just put like similey faces as their post should not be credited. I hope they dont but apparently if they didnt get the money then they would stop. I agree with your point

I know some people may not write what we all think they should but some people don't like to write large amounts.  I agree that we should leave this to the people at fusion, they set up the rules and if they feel that someone is not doing what they are supposed to do then they should be the ones that make the comments.  I know that I try to write something that is useful and informative everytime i write something but I am sure that some people don't like the things that I write.

I guess we could list the cheaters on this thread since it already has the appropriate name. I don't actually remember seeing any posts like this so maybe you could post the link and we can tell newbys..This is not an appropriate post and have an example.

Of course you might get a lot of posters thinking it is the tv show...lol

And some people can't figure out why they don't get credit, ...to "contribute" to the topic it DOES help if you actually READ the posts to know for sure what the topic is that is being discussed.

I don't watch the TV show "Cheaters", so I didn 't even think of that as I read the posts in this thread...but I guess some people are just so anxious to get in their 30 posts, they don't really pay much attention.

I know I've seen the occasional quoted post with nothing added, but I've seen that behavior on other sites where someone either didn't know what they were doing or it was an accidental post, so I didn't pay it much mind.  Can't say I've seen a lot of those type of posts.

If the posts being discussed are not quotes, but individuals actually copying someone else's post and submitting the text as a "new" post - can't say I've noticed that either.  If this is going on, that is definitely plagiarism and definitely against the rules.

I disagree with having a special forum to report such activities, as I've seen that done on other forums and they usually breed more issues than they solve.  First it opens doors to individuals who feel it's "funny" to report random people who've done nothing wrong.  Then the people who are reporting guilty individuals start being treated differently on the boards as they are seen as police/narcs, which usually leads to hurt feelings all around.

Probably the best thing is to raise awareness of the issue (as this thread has done), and encourage people to contact FC directly to report users that are habitually not "playing by the rules" so their team can pay closer attention to them when reviewing PTP entries.  The only caution is don't report people who may accidentally post a quote without contribution on occasion - be sure the behavior is regular so one does not accidentally report someone's honest mistake.

Just my 2 cents.

Great post, kapeh12.  That about sums up the issue.  We have a "report post" function that sends a message directly to the moderators without disclosing the identity of the reporter.

Some people try to cheat the system, but we have the tools to pretty effectively catch them.  I am sure that someone who doesn't deserve the bonus gets it once in a while, but plagiarized or low-content posts don't seem to be a huge issue on here.  I also think that many times people are overwhelmed or inexperienced with forum software and this leads to a lot of the strange looking posts.

Ok you guys!  What ever happened about the most important rule of all.  Be nice.  We are all people with feelings.  If you are going to post something may I suggest to think before you post.  If you think that it might cause an argument then don't post it.  We're suppose to be having some fun and this is a great way to talk to a lot of interesting people.  BE NICE GUYS!  :angel11:
