Its all BS.  No way will the owners of this country allow it to default.  It's a trumped up issue and is only being used to take more away from the middle and lower classes.

Very concerned. :(  If our nation goes into default the dollar could plummet in value the likes of which we haven't seen since the Great Depression.  You think gas prices are high now......  Hate to be apocalyptic, but this just the tip of the iceberg.  That being said, in the short term I think disaster will be averted with a rise in the debt ceiling approved.  Our country needs to stop spending more money than they garner from taxes and stop giving practically every country in the world money that we don't have.

I agree with what AdamH1978 wrote and will add this. I am very concerned as far as what could happen again to the farmers and agriculture in this country. Obama and lawmakers have targeted $30 billion or more in agriculture spending cuts and this could cause another crisis like we had in the 1980's - anyone remember all the 'Farm-Aid' concerts that were done to raise money?

I think too many discount what farmers give to this country and are willing to buy imported fruits, vegetables, grains, etc., without even thinking what it does to OUR economy. I remember the cost of buying groceries at outrageous prices because farms were going under right and left here in the U.S. Why should I have to buy foreign food with all the rich farmlands we have right here?
You are entitled to your own opinion, but you are not entitled to your own facts.
