I haven't fallen victim to an internet scam, thankfully. But the net sure is packed with scam.

Excuse me for being so blunt, but that was just plain stupid. NEVER put your own money into anything online, no matter how good it looks. If it was so good, why would they need your cash up front? Make the Internet pay it's own way or don't play. That's why Fusioncash is so great, free money to play with.

oldbuddy, it was more of MLM.  We didn't have to put up money, we spent the money on product.  I totally agree with what you said.

It happens every day! Just watch your emails, and don;'t use your banonk/credit cards where you dont think its safe. Paypal seems to be the best service for using funds!

Same Rule #1 applies. Don't buy product you don't need with money you don't have. If it's product you need and use, then it can hardly be classified as LOST, can it?

I hear too many of these stories about, "I lost $5,000 in a scam" , in fact the truth is I lost $11,000 in a scam myself, but it wasn't my money I used, so it's not really lost, is it? In fact I ended up with a $15,000 profit.

Be careful and stories like this won't happen to you. I guarantee it will take a LOT less than $5,000 for me to figure out something is not working.

I was scammed for $10 once a few years ago when I first started trying to make money online.  After that I pretty much stuck with the free sites.  It was for "training materials" to do a job.  I never got the materials but they got my $10.  That was the first and last time.

If the most I ever get scammed out of is $10 from here on, I will be a HAPPY MAN!  8)

For me it's a risk/reward thing. No risk usually means little potential for reward and once you get the hang of it, you can usually tell which ones are worth a little risk and the losses just get taken in stride as part of playing the game.

Yes, I did once. I think it was a paypal thing. They just ask for your email address and they would send you money through your paypal account but it turns out that what you were really doing is sending them money out of your paypal account. If your bank account is routed to your paypal account, then you are ripped.

I haven't fallen victim to a scam, but someone I worked with ended up owing her bank about 3000 dollars. I don't know which particular scam it was. But someone apparently sent her a fake check and she cashed it and spent the money. I assume the scammers had her send money back to them or something. I actually don't know all the details. I usually just assume that if I don't put money into something, I at least haven't lost any. And I would be suspicious of any $3000 check I got online.

That's an old scam that is still around and will be as long as suckers take the bait. Where they go wrong is they think just because the bank cashed the check and gave them the money, they are in the clear. WRONG. By then they sent the money to the scammer with a nice cut for themselves and all looks good until the bank shows up with their hand out and a forged check in it.

I lost $78 once to a internet marketing scam. they supposedly gave you all these websites and marketing tools, but shortly after I signed up their website disappeared with all the links and everything. I learned my lesson and now I don't do anything that requires money upfront. I still occasionally get taken by companies that I buy products from, especially some of the free trials that charge me after I cancel. But with all the offers I do on FC and other sites, I still come out ahead.

I get emails all the time saying I got 2m in funds but I dont give them any info. If anything sounds to good to be true, dont go around giving scammers any info, just ignore them.

Thankfully, no. I'm far too cheap to spend any of my money to make money. Occasionally I'll use the earnings from one program to buy an upgrade at another program, but only after doing a lot of research and verifying that it is a legit site, and only for very small amounts.

I have never been a victim of an internet scam, but I did experience some free sites that I joined going belly up. Most sites, especially PTC sites are scams. Be very wary of any site that claims that you could make millions or even thousands for that matter.
