Disaster in my family just need someone to talk to
« on: December 03, 2011, 01:40:10 pm »
My parents house burned downed Wednesday the 30th of November and my dads head caught on fire it burned his hair off.  Almost all of there animals died they burned alive my dad tried to go in and save them.  They lost everything. My dad didn't have any cloths on when he got out just his underware and someone driving by went and got him a sweet outfit.  People have been really helping out and getting them set up somewhere. I am so greatful they mad it out alive.

How awful. I hope your parents are ok. i know it is a horrible thing to go through and very tramatic. you are not alone. My husband and his parents nearly died in a housefire. They had no insurance and lost everything. Only had on their Pjs. his dad was an invalid, and my husband had to carry him out. They were all singed. their pets died in the fire, though it was believed that they probably suffocated before catching fire.

the next day, what few things could be salvaged from the building beside the house, were stolen!

The red cross helped them out. Maybe you could check with them for help?

Thanks everyone! Red cross was called by someone and they are helping they gave them a couple of certificates to go eat a couple of meals, they gave them money and they are going to help replace my moms teeth.  We know the pets where burning alive because they where screeming they had 9 cants and 6 dogs. two dogs made it and one cat, I am hoping somemore cats made out and are just hiding somewhere else. Mom has smoke inlation and had to be brought to urgent care she is still having a hard time but I hope she gets better.

that's terrible!  :(  i have never experienced a house
fire with my immediate family, but i've had relatives lose
everything to one and it was absolutely devastating for
them. glad to hear your parents are alive! i cannot imagine
losing someone i love that way...

good luck to you and them

That truly is a tragic thing to have happen, so sorry for that but at least they are alive.  Things can be replaced, people can't.  I am so happy that things weren't worse than they were, although I am sure you guys all feel like they are pretty bad.  I hope more people will come forward to help, maybe your local news could put a human interest story on about this if you call them, people with money tend to be more generous during the holidays when they become aware that something so devastating has happened.  God Bless you guys!

I'm so sorry for your Parent's horrible experience. I can't image what your parents felt hearing their poor pets screaming in agony & not be able to save them! :crybaby2: :'( :( :crybaby2: :crybaby2: :crybaby2: :crybaby2: At lease your parents got out alive. Do you know how the fire started? Did they have a fire alarm? Do, they have home insurance? So, sorry, so sorry & I'm just glad there are so many kind & good people stepping up to help them.

So sorry for the loss you and your family have endured.  I am a animal lover and I can understand the death of a "family member" as such.  I dont know where you are but if there is anything that can be done from one person in Oklahoma I will do the best I can to help.  Please tell your family there are prayers coming from Oklahoma and at least one heart is with them.  I cant imagine the hurt of hearing the animals cry out and not be able to rescue them, but thank God your human family is safe, maybe scarred but safe.  The salvation army in your area might help as well.  Much love and prayers!!!

I am very sorry to hear about this and I extend my sympathies.  Things such as this serve to remind me how fortunate I am and just how petty my little daily gripes and complaints are compared to what others might go through.
There are only 10 types of people in the world:  those who understand binary, and those who don't.
