i must play devils advocate with this topic. If you get a check in the mail and have done nothing to earn it. That should throw up a red flag. I have gotten the checks in the mail, and have thrown them in the trash. "if it sounds to good to be true, it probably is"

I agree with that. I only cash checks that i know where they came from. Those scams are really old and i am surprised people still fall for them.

Those are all scams. I have gotten one of those, but I never deposited the money. Instead, I called the bank from where the check was supposed to have been made from. They thanked me for letting them know. It was a bogus check and I threw it away.

This happened to me about 5 years ago. My sister didn't have a checking account so we used mine, she spent the money and it was a scam. She paid me back plus bouns fees but my bank didn't close my account out.  Of course we check it and the bank said it was good so she spent it, not all of it but some of it.  Than it came back as no good.  She would of not spent it if my bank would not say it was good so it was part there fault for giving me the ok.  I can't believe they closed your account of course bank of america is a huge bank so they might beable to afford to loose you as a customer, there are only like 4 or 5 banks in my area that are owned by one brank I live in a small town of a little over 600 people so all the little towns has that bank near me.  I am so sorry that happend to you.

Ive received the checks.  But knew that they were too good to be true.  :dontknow: So I never cashed or deposited them.  Sorry about your misfortune! :(

I have recieved 2 fusion cash checks and both I have deposited in my bank account and have had no problems so obviously this site is not a scam its the real deal and if you think its a scam then there is no need to be on this site. I am staying and going to keep doing what I am doing recieving checks and making money.

I feel sorry about what happened to your account. I got the same check as well 2 years ago and my bank friend told me it was a scam so I didn't deposit it and I didn't lose any money. Thank to my friend and I won't deposit any check like this ever.

I do believe that the Mystery Shopping gimmick is the same as earning $2 per envelope for stuffing it with fliers.  You have to be very careful when someone sends you a check and you haven't done anything to earn it.   Checks like that goes into my shredder.  We all have been scammed in one way or other.  Just learn from your mistake.

I would go down to your bank and talk to them.  A lot of times the will freeze an account if they feel some type of fraud has been attempted, but they are trying to protect you, not hurt.  I'd look more into it.

I don't think that is fair. A big bank like that should know both ends of the spectrum. sometimes good people get caught up in a scam but you were smart you didn't use any of the money you waited. You had no way of knowing that was going to happen. You acted in a responsible manner. I would go to their facebook page and state my case and feelings about what happened a higher up may see it and let you reopen your account.Your local news station may be able to help under human interest stories. Go in to the bank and show them any documentation that came with that check so they can know it did not originate with you. They have no way of knowing otherwise.  :( :( :(

Maybe you ought to actually take the time to read the first post before making an uninformed reply like the one above. :angry7: The thread topic is about being 'scammed' by cashing checks for Mystery Shopping that were not 'real'. It is NOT about FC being a scam or the checks we receive from FC being a scam! ::)

That was your post earlier in this thread in the context of FC.  No one was quoted in your reply.  The remainder of the thread is within the context of receiving & cashing unsolicited checks.  A request for payments in the form of a check from FC is a solicited request.

One can lead a horse to water however, if one holds the horse's head under, that horse will drown.
