A Ps3 is much better. Aside from being able to play PS3 games along with PS2/PSX compatibility (depending on what version you're buying), it also a Blue-ray disc player (a typical Blue-ray disc player may cost around $200 or more)!!! You can hold and play music and video/movie files on the PS3 as well. The PS3 also has a built in WiFi, which allows you to connect online wirelessly. The only downside is that it costs nearly twice Wii. But with so many features, the PS3 is definitely worth the price.

You're right in that, but I have a Wii and it's way more entertaining for the entire family.  I have my grandma, grandpa and 3 year old sister all playing with me.  And that's way more to me than an MP3 player.

I have a wii and xbox 360... the wii is fun espically with the kids..... the 360 has the online live stuff and the kids are happy with just playing the demos..... so i win either way!

(coming from a Wii owner, so a bit biased, but oh well)

I'd say get a Wii over a PS3. If you already have an XBox 360, then you don't need a PS3. PS3 has barely any exclusive titles that XBox doesn't have. Plus, the Wii is $150 cheaper, and yes, it has free online like the PS3, but it's annoying, so stick with Live. The Wii games may seem childish, but they are really not. You look at them and think "There's no way I'd like this game, it looks like crap!" and then you play it and you love it. Take for example Animal Crossing. That game looks so childish but me and my friends have a ton of fun playing it online. The Wii games deserve a chance. :)

We at one time had a PS3, XBox 360 and a Wii.

We only have the Will now because we did not like very many games for either of the other two consoles. The Wii, however, had an ease of use and a lever of interactiveness that kept it interesting where the other systems were more of the same old, same old.

Wii's are cheaper than the other systems, and anyone you invite over will be able to get into it, so noone is left out. :D

I have a ps3 which (in my opinion) much better than the xbox or wii

1. FREE LIVE- it is rediculous to have to pay for live on an xbox

2 good game- The games are just as good... except no GOW

3. Blu ray- a blue ray player is like 200 dollars, and in buying a ps3 for 400 you get blue ray and a great gaming system

PS3 FTW :icon_rr:

I want a Wii so bad!

I am not a big gamer at all.. but the Wii really appeals to the Hello Kitty-loving "OMG SO CUTE!" side of my personality. Plus, I much prefer the Nintendo-type of cartoony video games.. Mario, Tetris, Spyro, etc... to the "realistic" looking ones. I just want a Wii with DDR and Wii Fit. Then I'll be happy  :)

My ex has an xBox 360 & just got a PS3 for his birthday... he is considering getting rid of one. I might not prefer the PS3 but I'll definitely offer to take it off his hands!!

We are a family with 3 kids, 10-16 yrs.  We have both the Wii and PS3.  We use our PS3 so much more than our Wii.  Yes, it may cost more, but you are getting a blue ray player and nothing beats it.  I just wish we bought an 80 gig PS3 instead of our 40 gig.  The 40 gig won't play any PS2 games but I read online that the 80 gig PS3 will.  The favorite game in our house is Call of Duty 4,  my hubby and son go online and love it.  I do have to watch our 10 yr old with that game.  She likes to go online and use the mic to talk.  I don't think she should.....

As for the wii, I like the wii fit and the kids like the balance games.  I don't recommend tennis with 4 people unless they are S p r e a d out.  My daughter was clocked on the head from a backhand swing :(   We just really prefer the graphics on the PS3

I think it depends on what the purpose of buying it is.  I don't have either one, but like the idea of the Wii.

I had a playstation 3 and I didn't seem to find a whole lot of good games for it. The WII games seem like their more kiddish. I prefer my good old playstation 2  :binkybaby:
