What was your biggest holiday disappointment?
I don't know what it was but this year I just had a hard time getting into the holiday spirit, but i loved watching my 4 year old really get into it!

I was disappointed this Christmas, mostly because we just moved here late summer.  Matter of fact, the day before Christmas I said to my daughter(22)
"this Christmas sucks" .  My daughter was shocked as I am always the optimist.  It was just a bunch of little things getting me down, no snow, no car or money to go shopping for gifts, my son wasn't here with us, no parties at friends houses to go to, etc.....   Next year we are making lasagne and watching movies all day!

Only thing is that my week off is too short :(, but realistically, no disappointments

I don't fall into that trap of the perfect Norman Rockwell image of the holidays.  It's just another day to me.  I don't think I've had the Xmas spirit since I was a little kid if I even has one.  I stopped celebrating many moons ago.  I don't buy into all the hype.  As my father used to say don't expect anything and you won;t be disappointed.

I was asked by a family member to fix a computer that went kaputt on Christmas day.  I spent a little time fixing this on the same day and spent half my following day restoring.

I could have used a little more money but I told my son (16) way before Christmas not to expect much.
My daughter (22) got a car for her 21st birthday 12/23/10. She said I didn't have to buy her anything
until 2012. So I was not to stressed it all worked out.

I couldnt have asked for more this year...after the last 3 or 4 years of Christmas disappointments, this one went great! I had my girls here and I was able to buy all the kids a few things they had wanted and spent it with my family. I guess there is one dissapointment. My husband was layed off December 14th. But God has provided for us so far and I trust he will provide for us further. His unemployent should begin on January 12th. He also is trying to start his own woodworking business. He he a wonderful talent.

It was a good holiday season! Spent some good time with family and friends. Don't care about gifts anymore, that is for the younger kids. Still
enjoy watching them open the gifts!

Our disappointment this year was the fact that our son and his family were not able to come visit at anytime over the holidays.

They just moved to Ft. Lee, VA, in October so were not able to come to Minnesota for Christmas.

Our other 3 children and families were here though, so we had a very nice time.

I was disappointed that I was the only one who helped to clean up for my parents-in-law on Christmas day.(we were expecting guests.)
My husband, sister-in-law, brother-in-law and his girlfriend and my nephews were sledding for hours and of course I wanted to play too but my 2 year old girl didn't want to go back sledding after 15 min. and I just couldn't ask my parents-in-law to watch her and leave. When my sister-in-law asked me "You didn't want come sledding?" later that day it made me really sad...

I really hate the commercialism that has taken over Christmas and it disappoints me to see people fighting with and hurting others for a 'thing'.

It was in 2010. All I wanted was snow. I haven't seen allot of snow in my life so it is special when I do. It snowed where we live but we were not here . It was a huge let down. ;'(

I went to visit my parents' house... and my father and brothers have NO taste in decorating with lights.
They basically bought a long long chain of lights and twirled the lights along the fence, plants, basketball hoop, etc, and called it a day. I arrived during the night and the look of it was NOT great...
